Cincinnati Bengals (Just Burrow In)

Despite the fact that he was a top 10 QB before breaking his thumb in 2015 with a decently solid offensive line blocking for him. If you don’t like him, that’s fine. Just don’t look foolish in the process.

top 10 that year? yeah, he had a good partial up to the point of the injury...out of curiosity, do you recall HOW he got injured? I do...attempted to ground a screen pass near the goal line and threw it right to a d-lineman and had no choice but to attempt a tackle...grounding a screen pass and threw it right to the lineman. so even in the midst of a good statistical season, he still went full retard.

I'm a Steelers fan snaps I'd take Dalton as a backup and start him once Big Ben decides to hang it up. He's not a terrible QB, he's serviceable and can get the balls in playmakers, it's just that the Bungles don't have many playmakers outside of Green.

Dalton is not the answer, but he isn't the problem. The OL is garbage and we have no play makers at WR execpt for Green. I wouldn't mind seeing McCarron just play from here on out though...even if you just want to trade bait. Worse can scenario, he does well and you get great trade value. But more importantly, we need to get rid of the human garbage that is Vontaze Burfict....meaning we need to draft a LB. We also need another DB or two. That being said, I don't think we are terribly that far off from having a competitive team if we get rid of Lewis. Get a decent coach (and also get rid of Pacman and Burfict) and we might be alright.

For the younger fans out there, today's loss was symbolic of the last 40 years for this franchise. The theme: stay right with the opponent for 3.5 quarters, finally pull ahead (miracle!), then let the opponent do just enough to barely regain the lead by the end of the game. If you have to explicitly help the opposing offense down the field with time running out (e.g., Burfict's boneheaded targeting penalty on Antonio Brown that kept the Steelers' game winning drive alive in the playoff game a couple years ago), then so be it.

Maybe the source of the problem is the ownership. Mike Brown's father was a winner, but Mike either doesn't care or just did not get the winner gene handed down.

Bingo. They do this every year. I have been watching them the 29 years of my life and it is the same shit, different week, every week. Ownership is probably the biggest issue...Lewis needs fired, but not sure anyone can succeed in this environment. It is incredible that I watch every week and have zero emotional investment. I used to feign that I didn't care in the past, but now I truly don't. Like, seriously. Burn this shit down to the ground and start over.

Just about the most Bengally series of plays ever. Get a punt blocked, let Osweiler run for 20 yards, pickoff a pass in the end zone and return it 100 yards but don't score a TD, eventually manage to get the TD on O, and then miss the damn XP.

So I was concerned that we might win just enough to fuck up a draft pick and not make the playoffs, yet give Lewis one more year. That scenario might be a reality after beating Denver. We will beat Cleveland most likely and have a good shot at beating Chicago. Then we of course lose to Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Minnesota, and probably Detroit. That leaves us at 6-10. Hopefully we step up with a 4-12 record and lose out, because that is the only real guarantee to fire Lewis and get a top 10 pick in my eyes. I hope it is abundantly clear that Lewis is gone without getting to the playoffs, but I can't bank on that with past results.

Re: 2017 is the final year of Marvin Lewis’ current contract with the Cincinnati Bengals. The expectation is the team will not extend him before the 2017 season, breaking tradition in Cincinnati.

Re: The opening of the Cincinnati Bengals’ 50th training camp on July 27 will mark an occasion that is happening for just the second time in a decade – head coach Marvin Lewis coaching out his contract.
Team president and owner Mike Brown and Lewis did not come to an agreement on what had seemed like an annual rite of spring with a one-year extension this offseason, so Lewis enters his 15th campaign as the Bengals’ head coach with no security beyond.

Just sayin': If the Bengals are anything they are CHEAP. They can let Lewis go after the season and not have to pay him any additional contract years.

Burfict gets a PF for chucking a WR on a crossing route. The NfL is a fucking joke.

I mean....so are thse teams (as well as Burfict) but that's just ridiculous.
