Clarett spilling the beans

They have already been through the entire MOC case.

What can be left?
A lot. The reason this worries me is because MoC has been out of the spotlight so long, and he wants back in. If you read the original story, MoC's cousin basically said that MoC is now cooperating with the story. It's not a stretch to see MoC doing all he can to bring down the university. Doesn't matter, though, the point is, MoC is apparently cooperating with ESPN this time around, where he didn't before. If that's true, there will be all kinds of new info.

I know this isn't going ot be popular, but we are all blaming MOC for everything.
I too think he is a f'ing idiot, and screwed himself up,and screwed OSU. However, we are all assuming that it's all MOC fault.

Lies Damned Lies and MoC?

Based on MoC's past record with the media and the NCAA the relationship of this "info" to the truth is likely near zero.

Well to have ESPN poking around it has to be bad... because they wouldn't be here if it wasn't.

I was told this was going to happen a few months ago, by a PA sportswriter named David Jones. However, he said that ESPN's legal team axed the original story, and he wouldnt say why. I got the impression that they didnt have enough meat behind it to run it. Now with clarett spilling the beans, they have enough. However, Geiger has said that the things covered in the story have already been covered in the NCAA investigation, so that is good at least. The only real problem is that this will likely cast a bad image on the university. But, ESPN has had a hard-on for trying to nail osu ever since they ran with Norma McGill before finding out she was a mental patient, and their story backfired on them.

1. Fuck maurice clarrett. Championships, touchdowns and wins aside, as a person he's a piece of shit.

2. Fuck ESPN the magazine. Anybody who wants to find some dirt can dig up a "story" and spin it so they can sell more magazines. Why am I supposed to believe that they are any more credible than the National Enquirer or the fucking New York Times?

3. I hope that this is all just a rumor blown out of proportion.....

ESPN has been trying to do this story for some time now. They never had the juice to back it up before without some dirt from clarett. The 86'd it before because their legal team knew better than to try and run it for fear of being sued. So, whatever they have has something behind it, however, it will come down to clarett's word against that of the university. Clarett blames everyone else for his issues. He's been a headcase since day one, and everyone knows it. All Geiger has to do is toss out clarett's track record and everyone will see he's about as credible as norma mcgill.

i am fairly certain that one of the allegations will be that mo will claim that osu officials told him to lie to the ncaa investigators.

This isn't shit fellas. We suspended the kid...PERIOD!!!!! It cost us the a NC. wE LET THE ncaa INVESTIGATORS DO THEIR THING. IMO this is a waste of time. The NCAA already knows hes a trouble maker. Remember this kid lied to police what makes the NCAA so sure he wouldn't lie to them to back at the University. OSU has already paid the price for MoC. The guy is a fucking idiot. This is an old story taht keeps revolving around and around. The only way we would get into trouble is if he played last year or he was currently playing with the team.

That may be something he says, but I'm more worried about the fact that ESPN is all over town talking to car dealerships, among others. Looks to me like they're going after "illegal aid" and gifts. Not good.

Brutus - what is all this talk that MoC already cost us the NC? As far as I'm aware, the NCAA still recognizes the OSU as the 2002 National Champions.

True, but there obviously is something there, or this would not be any issue at all. We wouldn't have this thread.

You can have your 5 star recruits. Clarett has been spoiled since who knows when. Irizarry and others just prove my point. Give me the Hawk's, Krenzel's and Gamble's. Kids who play with a chip on their shoulder and heart. Thank God TG grew up in a family with parents who kept him balanced.

My thoughts exactly!! With MoC's track record of an inability to be truthful, I hope ESPN or any other media outlet does their homework. Wait a minute .... we've also seen the track record of ESPN and other media outlets so forget about it!! :wink2:
