Cleveland Browns (2012 season)

They are about two baby steps away from being respectable in the league again, why fuck it up with pulling in a non-entity like Michael Vick to QB?

Oh wait, it's the Browns. Look for the Browns to trade their entire draft stock + Weeden to pull him in. :smash:

Vick in the Dawg Pound... because there aren't enough jokes about the Cleveland Browns? :roll2:

[bob costas] The Dog fighting culture in this nation is abominable. Michael Vick in the Dawg Pound is one step in his rehabilitation. If he had been in the Dawg Pound in the early 2000s, those dogs would all be alive today [/Bob Costas]

No way there is any truth to that rumor. Banner has to watch
'Some' football, no? Any person with a brain can tell Vick is on
His last couple years. Hell this should be his last year. But he'll
Stick it out for a couple more paychecks and injury plagued seasons.

He won't go to Buffalo either.

I could see Arizona going for him.

This is an improving, young team. It only requires a piece here and there to be good.

I hate to say it - if this team finishes out the season strong, while playing at a good level. Meanwhile Shurmur can continue to actually put some effort into coaching and gameplans. Maybe we shouldn't blow up this staff quite yet.

I hope that fire never goes out from under Greg Little. Gordon will be a stud this time next year. Weeden is an average QB right now. Which is
by far and away better then what Cleveland usually has. If he evens develops a little bit further (more decisive, less double-clutch, more 'touch') then you could have a very good offense.

Trent needs to get healthy. If we finish 7-9. The primo defensive players are gone. Fuck it, grab Barrett Jones or Warmack. Make the Oline dominant. Because our guard play is well below average when running the ball.

Maybe a play in Free Agency. Move Sheldon to FS. Get Patterson healthy as our #2 CB. Take a shot on a Gillislee, or Lester or perhaps a developmental pass rusher.

If the coaches can even remotely develop young talent, then put them in schemes and gameplans close to giving them a chance to excel - dear god we could have a playoff team in Cleveland.

Good teams blow out lesser teams. That's what we did today that we haven't done previously. I'm ahead in my quarterfinal fantasy playoff by 90 points with Brees and Graham still to go.

This, my long suffer Cleveland friends, is a good day.

Baltimore and Pittsburgh are both old and on the way down. With the right moves the Browns could win the North next year. Who knows if RG3 will play next week. There is no way that he will have all his mobility even if he plays. The Browns have a shot to win 2 of the next 3 to finish the season. If so I think it would be hard to fire Shurmur.

Forty years ago I got the stat that, the average male human body reaches maturity at 28 years old. With that in mind, I'd like to see the Browns pick up two guards in free agency. We can get the needed DBs and LBs in the draft.

I like what I am seeing with this team. We have a tremendous amount of young talent...this team could be good soon. My fear is that Banner is going to blow this thing up...worse mistake possible would be replacing Heckert with Lombardi, but of course we finally seem to have someone that can evaluate talent and we are going to dump him. If this is just to lure Saban from Alabama I would rather just keep what we have...

Pittsburgh's time is nearly over. Big Ben can't play a full season and still holds onto the ball way to long. Their defense which has been ageless this year, won't be that way next year. Polamalou can't stay healthy. Their CB's are questionable. Harrison isn't getting any younger.
Their Oline can't stay healthy and under performs. Their RB's can't hold onto the damn ball. They have contract issues with their best WR.

Baltimore has a slightly better Rex Grossman at QB. Reed, Suggs & Ray are probably done after this year. Especially if Suggs keeps getting hurt.
Jimmy Smith isn't turning into the CB they thought he'd be. We'll see who they line up across from Torrey Smith once Boldin hangs up the cleats.

Cincy... That is all.

Browns. Have the youngest roster in the NFL. Depth and talent at Dline. A good, young and improving Oline. Solid (and improving) skill positions. Capable TE's (although the blocking needs to improve) and a secondary that really needs time to get healthy and one more playmaker.

Next few years will be the time to show the bitches in black and gold the door.

I can't see us beating Denver. But finishing 7-9???

If the bye isn't possible or if they have have a chance to secure it against the Browns (win next week and a NE loss this week against Houston and next week against San Francisco puts them at 12-3 with NE being 10-5 both with two games to play) then the Browns will see Manning.

NE owns the head to head tie breaker, so the Broncos need NE to lose one more.

Shit is about to get real in Cleveland!!!!!

Maybe - They are winning games against the bad teams now and Shitzburgh is a bad team. I wish they had the Cowgirls and Philly game back. 7-6 with this bunch would get Shurmur coach of the year pub ( :slappy: )

Browns: vs Washington, @Denver, @Pitt
Steelers: @Dallas, vs Cincy, vs Cleveland
Bengals: @Philly, @Pitt, vs Baltimore

It is a little bit of a reach, but...(pause)...the Browns could actually make the playoffs

RG3 is hurt, Denver might be resting players, and the Steelers blow

What needs to happen:
1. Browns win out
2. Steelers & Bengals go 1-2 (or worse)

Then it would come to tie break (division record). If the Browns win out, they have 3 division wins. Only Pitt could finish 1-2 and match that. But, we hold the next tie break (head to head) over them. So we would go to the playoffs, LOL.

Next week will almost be the decider.

The Jets & Dolphins also are a potential problem if they get to 8 wins. Idk how that would work out.
