Cleveland Browns (2012 season)

You are preaching to the choir:wink: but this morning I did wake up and realized that we had just beaten the lowly Kansas City Chiefs that the week before that the lowly Oakland Raiders and before that the Squealer's without their starting QB so it sort of put things in perspective... unfortunately.

the same charlie batch steelers beat the ravens in baltimore. oakland beat a fully healthy pitt team in oakland, and the chiefs had pitt on the ropes. you can't diminish a 3 game winning streak in the nfl.

as for the 0-5 start, people forget that not only was haden suspended, but taylor was out. rubin missed most of 2 games with injury. there was no dimitri patterson for some of that, and sheldon brown was dinged and missed time against cinci. this is on top of losing both starting OLB's before the season even started.

for this team to finish 6-10, or even 7-9 is cause for celebration.

The commentators were saying much the same during the game...the fact is that the Browns are more or less full strength right now, which gives them a gigantic advantage in the last month of the season, when teams are losing or have lost key guys. Our injury fuckfest was weeks 2-6, basically. A lot of other teams have it now, weeks 14-17. Would love to have a couple of those games back, but in the end, this team is young, hungry, pretty healthy, and maybe a draft away from really going somewhere.

Love to see his grading scale. I know what my eyes tell me though.
Well, what did your eyes tell you when you saw Joe Thomas standing there when his QB was being sacked:wink: I know that it was Watson's responsibility but Thomas could have helped out or at least try to. I don't think any of our offensive linemen are very good run blockers but I think they all are pretty good pass blockers.

I heard Haslam was going to try to reassemble the coaching staff from Cleveland 95 next year. :p

But really if they do keep Shurmur maybe they can find an old retired coach to come in and be his "don't do that" guy on gameday.

JT has been a fine run blocker until Shurmur came in. Then there was little
Emphasis put on it and that has shown. Thomas has made only a small handful
Of mistakes in any given season. Lavaou had how many penalties again Pittsburgh again???

most likely scenario...browns win next 2 games with a Phil Dawson late winning FG against Denver and then lose on a last minute drive in week 17 against shitsburgh killing all playoff hopes...Haslam keeps Shumur and staff (which im fine with btw), Shumur now under pressure to field a good team goes 5-11 next year and gets fired

I would be shocked if this doesn't happen. I would probably go all in on a vbet.

Lauvao looks ok when he's lined up against a stiff, it's the better D-linemen that just embarrass him.
The holding penalty is such a subjective call in both the college and pro game it is really not worth talking about. They could call holding almost every play or the officials could go an entire game and not call one holding penalty. You bring up the Pittsburgh game but it's funny that no other games were mentioned. I think that is an indicator of how subjective that penalty really is.

Back to back to back I believe. I bring up that game in particular because of those
Standout moments.

Interesting. As a Redskins fan, I'm thinking I'd be shocked if the Redskins don't win the next game. :tongue2:

Defense is starting to solidify, Morris is entering beat mode, and Garcon is becoming a household name with two other WR targets.

And your QB will be on the bench with a grade 1 LCL sprain.
I don't think Shanahan takes the chance going against one of the better
interior Dline's in the NFL.

And by solidify the defense you mean moving from 29th to 28th overall in total yards allowed??
