Cleveland Browns (2016 thread of unrelenting dumpster conflagration)

Saw this Mock this morning.... I could live with it..

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...ne&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=twitter.com

1. Garrett
13. Watson

of course he has Trubisky going 2 to SF and Josh Allen 3 to Chicago and Kizer to Buffalo ... so Watson going to the 4QB in the draft....

I think Watson at 13 is worth it could he be a bust yes, but gotta start somewhere and the guys next year are gonna get picked apart in analysis. I'll admit I'm not very high on Watson but I dont see how we go into next year with Kessler, McCown, and Broken RG3.. unless they are going OL heavy in this class (which is supposed to be one of the worst OL classes in recent memory)

SI's lady-mock draft is similar but flip-flops Watson and Kizer between Buffalo and Cleveland at 10/12. Bills are in a similar QB situation and would be probably happy with either of those guys in the mid-first too.

Interesting... Garrett & Hooker in the first round...not bad.

and Foreman from Tejas in Round 2... interesting...

Any mock that doesn't have the Browns taking a QB in the first round is okay by me. Personally, I like Allen more than Garrett. I feel like he is a safer pick who can really cause problems for the other team.

I don't know but I'm not sold on Trubisky. He just doesn't impress me as a possible first round pick. Neither does Watson. The QBs in this draft class are just underwhelming. It sucks because the Browns sure could use one but overpaying (pick-wise) for one just because, isn't a good idea. Take one in round 2 or 3. The chances of that guy being successful on this Cleveland Browns team, probably aren't much worse. The popular example now would be Dak Prescott, and sure, that guy has a killer Oline and Elliott to run behind that line making things much easier. That is what I'm looking for...a team to be built which makes the job of a rookie QB easier (or, you know, the exact opposite situation that any rookie Browns QB has ever been thrown in to.)

Thing is... Last year Kizer & Watson were OMG locks .. then they came back and there's more field and more to pick apart... No QB is flawless... Trubisky and the other one year wonders that dont come out will get the same treatment next year... its an F'ing crapshoot.. I'd like to take Pat Mahommes in the 3rd or 4th and hopefully let him sit.

Yep. Whoever they take needs to sit. Or he'll die. Let RGIII self-destruct/break/punch a woman and ride that wave of awesomeness to next year. If the Browns do take their "QB of the future" in this draft, he can at least stay healthy and learn the NFL game on the sidelines while the Browns learn how to play football and not get a QB multiple concussions/broken bones in a single season. The Browns can't do that with a QB taken in the first round and none of this years QBs are good enough to spend a first rounder on if they are going to have to play and die right away...not on the Browns, at least.

The more I watch of Allen the more I'm convinced he has to be our pick. Game changing ability on the interior.

Also, Wade fucking Philips please and thank you.

Couldn't make it easy and just have hired Jim Schwartz last year like a couple of us prayed they would.

Edit: if Kizer falls to our first 2nd round pick id be cool with him then.

They tried. He had zero interest in coming to Cleveland. I'm not sure what to think about bama guys. With all the rumors of rampant HGH use and the way they seem to underperform in the NFL has to give you pause.

Eh, Bama defensive front 7 players have been pretty good in the NFL under Saban. Their Oline, DB's and RB's?. I'll pass on those.

Really not seeing the upgrade with Williams. FO is probably obsessed with Myles Garrett and wants a "43" guy.

Greg Williams is substantially better than Horton, and it's not close. And once again, 4-3, 3-4, etc all are all antiquated terms in today's NFL.
