Cleveland Browns (2016 thread of unrelenting dumpster conflagration)

So just fucking around, but what would you do with this [Mark May]show? Me, I cut Johnny Rehab and keep McCown and AD. Keep Thomas and have him ensure that Erving goes to Bentleys camp over the offseason to take over at center. Mack and Schwartz are gone. I put in a plan for Duke as my feature back with some work for the Crow. I use my sizable cap space to either take a run at Calvin Johnson () or bring in a RT. In the draft, Bosa will go 1, so I take whatever player is best at 2 either on defense or WR. I then use all my picks on defense or WR except for a QB like 12 gauge in the mid rounds, with the ability for him to sit and learn for 1-2 years. The only other offensive position I look at in the draft is tackle, but only a BPA.

I don't know if anyone else is jumping out at me for #1 if Bosa is off the board. Maybe look to trade down. Titans run a 3-4 and Bosa isn't a good fit so he might fall to 2 if one of the tackles look really good. Drafting him would require the Browns to move to a 4-3, but I don't think it would be that hard of a change this time. Bosa, D. Bryant, Sheldon, would have said A Bryant 3 weeks ago as my starting DL. Cut or trade Kruger, Gilbert, and Mingo. See how everyone else fits in the 4-3. They need to fix the OL above all else. I'm guessing Manziel's LV trip was to destroy all value so the Browns have to cut him and he can sign where he wants. I'd keep Davis as the starter, McCown the backup/mentor, and draft a project in the 2nd-4th (CJ?). I'd keep Pryor on the roster through the off season to see if they can develop him into the kind of guy that can make more of those 40+ yard catches like he did once yesterday. Even if he isn't a #1 teams have to pay attention to him in the red zone since he can jump over anyone. The Seahawks did it and it sounds like the Steelers did it yesterday. Not sure about Gordon. I don't think you can count on him, but he has no trade value until maybe right before the season if he looks good in camp and he keeps his nose clean. I think the RB's are fine. Look for a TE in the middle of the draft. Honestly if they could draft Bosa in the first I'd be on-board with the best Buckeye available draft philosophy.

I think the Browns will get a chance to draft Bosa. Nearly every mock draft I have seen to date has Tennessee taking Laremy Tunsil. Going to see if they can keep Mariota alive.
Thought they drafted the assaulter from scUM to keep him alive, you mean to tell me he's not working out? I'm stunned.

Tim.
Beck.

What else are they going to do after every competent person on earth turns them down? (Barring the possibility that there is a competent coach who is also currently 1) unemployed and 2) suicidal. Don't know of any.)

Someone should film a reality show behind-the-scenes for this team. It could win an Emmy for best comedy series.

It is truly sad to see this hallowed franchise in such dis-array. The saddest memory I have was 1995, when the Browns played their last game at home, knowing that they were moving on to Baltimore. Art Modell could have waited after the season to make the announcement because at the middle of that season the Browns could have had a shot at playing the in the super bowl. But that announcement really took the heart and soul out the team. I don't think we will ever have a chance to watch the Browns play in a super bowl ever. Not at least in my life time...................
