In preparation for the 20th season of this shart shake of a franchise, lets go inside the numbers a little:

19 Seasons
88-216 (.289)
1 Playoff Appearance (0-1)
2 winning seasons (9-7 in 2002, 10-6 in 2007)
15 seasons of 10 or more losses (at least 11 in 9 of last 10 years)
10 seasons with at least 12 losses
16.6 ppg over those 19 seasons (an avg of 266 pts per season)
23.1 papg over those 19 seasons (an avg of 369 pts allowed per season)
Finished last in the division 15 of those 19 seasons, including the last 7 straight.

Remarkable.

It will just be interesting to see if Jackson hires an OC, no matter who, and gives him play calling responsibilities. I just cannot see a guy accepting the OC job without getting the ability to call his own plays and I do not see Jackson giving that up.

Jackson has zero business calling plays. None. To say he's been...bad...isn't even close. Wonder if this is Dorsey stepping in and forcing his hand.

I've never been a fan of HC's handling OC and playcalling duties full-time. It can work on rare occasion, but more often than not, it's a disaster.

this is where it is very confusing since both of them are direct reports to old Jimmy. so I do not know if Dorsey can tell Jackson that he cannot call his own plays and if that is the case I do not see many guys wishing to assume the OC position without that option.

We don't get the FA's we want
We don't get the players in the draft we (this board, mainly) want
We're stuck with familiar, piss-poor draft boards where we take completely underwhelming players and make prime 'reach' examples.
Coaching staff are unable to pull their heads out of their collective asses and we'll see more of the same in terms of on field production (lack of)

See you boys for the draft.

Mike Mularkey? :slappy:
Wait, you mean you don’t think having a guy come in with a) The ego of a head coach who just won a playoff game, b) had a chronically underachieving offense, c) runs the ball like its 1952 meshing with Hue and his throw it 80 times downfield a game offense will work well?

Let’s line up some turd salad predictions for next year, and we’ll see just how bad this team will be again.

QB FA: Chase Daniel

#1 overall: Baker Mayfield, QB

#4 overall: with Fitzpatrick still on the board, the Browns reach for Courtland Sutton, WR, SMU

And don't forget they have probably killed off one generation of younger fans by turning out crappy teams season after season after season.
