Cleveland Browns (Finally drafting Buckeyes)

If the price is right, who wants JJ Watt?
Everyone?
JJ Watt 1st five seasons: 80 games (0 missed); 371 tackles; 132 TFLs; 74.5 sacks; 45 passes defensed; 15 forced fumbles; 12 fumble recoveries

JJ Watt 2nd five seasons: 48 games (32 missed); 160 tackles; 40 TFLs; 26.5 sacks; 16 passes defensed; 10 forced fumbles; 4 fumble recoveries

Watt will turn 32 in six weeks. In 3 of the past 5 seasons, Watt has missed at least half of his games. Last season, he played all 16 games but had only 52 tackles, 14 TFLs, and 5 sacks. Sure, every player has a "right price", but JJ Watt is a shell of his former self, and at his age he probably won't be able to regain the Hall of Fame numbers that he generated from 2011 to 2015.

Well of course he’s not going to be DPOY again like he was 3 times...but you put him opposite of Garrett, and that’s a crazy upgrade over Vernon. Browns wouldn’t need him to be a HOFer...just a guy that can beat 1 on 1 when Miles is doubled. He’d be a much better fit for the Browns than he would on a team looking for a dominant DE1. Again, it depends on price.

So a team that sucks with a shitty front office and a desperate need for pass rush shouldn't put all their eggs in Watt's basket? Fast forward a few weeks when the Raiders overpay for him.

I am not sure what his asking price might be but with the problems that he has had with injuries over the years along with the number of other free-agent pass rushers that are available that I would pass on him. Some rumblings that he might end up in Pittsburgh with his two younger brothers but Ben would have to do some serious restructuring. Maybe Green Bay or Tampa

He knows his clock is ticking. he needs to find a home with a contender. I suspect there will be a significant discount since he won't be looking at 'market value' but last chance for a ring

I wonder if there will be interest in Clowney again... but Titans did not get their $13M worth... I thought Browns had some big contract issues coming up so wonder if Clowney's price tag is still in play

I think Clowney was in play last year when they could cut Vernon and only be out an extra 2M. I don't even think I'd want him anymore unless the price was a no brainer.

If there's a more overrated player in the nfl right now than Jadeveon Clowney, I'd like to hear that argument.
