Dwyane Wade has agreed to sign with the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls will send out the contracts of Mike Dunleavy and Jose Calderon to create cap space to sign Wade. Wade also discussed a contract with the Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets. The Heat were offering Wade a two-year, $40 million contract. Wade was the fifth overall pick by the Heat in 2003 and he won three titles with the franchise. According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, Wade told those close to him that Chicago was the only place he could see himself playing other than the Heat.https://www.google.com/amp/basketba...242732/Dwyane-Wade-Agrees-To-Sign-With-Bulls#

What in the hell are the Bulls doing? Rondo? Wade? Both terrible fits for their coach's system. Now their best player, entering his prime, has to switch positions to make room for an over-the-hill SG who has missed an average of 17 games a season over the last five years, and whose numbers have been in a steady decline for several years. Rondo meanwhile has clashed with every coach he's ever played for, and that's inevitable when Hoiberg sees him out there freelancing and being all Rondo on D. At least they'll sell a bunch of #3 jerseys.

Cavs franchise value before LeBron returned $515M
Cavs franchise value BEFORE NBA championship.. $1.1B .. I think this was Jan/Feb of this year

which is why LeBron does not care about the tax $600M increase in value
So Bron brings a value of 600m to the team, and Gilbert's not selling today, so when Bron leaves the franchise value will probably be in the 600s, maybe 700s and Gilbert would have payed well over the difference in luxury tax. The title gives him some residual value of maybe 100m, 150-200m if he gets another, but it's still a city that is difficult to attract top players when when you take away the 'win titles with James' factor.

I am of the era that had resolved themselves I would never again see a Cleveland championship after the Browns in the 60s... so I am living in the moment

This is not an issue only for Cleveland... OKC, Minneapolis, Detroit, Golden State, San Antonio, Toronto and on and on... Only LA, Chicago and NYC have permanent attraction
and luckily, those teams SUCK today

If James was playing for someone he liked, he might take league minimum to try to get money to spend one someone, but seeing as there is no way they don't crush the cap, James will let Gilbert pay the tax.

Jordan made 33 million a year his last 2 years with the Bulls. Luxury tax or no, that's a lot of scratch (probably 50 million today, and incidentally similar to the tax gilbert paid last year), LeBron's not taking the minimum, that's just silly.

NY I don't get. They play in NYC in Madison Squate fucking Garden, yet they suck more than a Khardashian most of the time. That takes work.

Not to mention the fact that this is now a 3-point shooting league and Butler, Wade, and Rondo are all terrible 3-point shooters. Chicago won't have any floor spacing this year.
