Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Caught a bit of Summer League game v Lakers.

Felder and especially McCrae look legit.

I could see McCrae getting meaningful minutes.
He can flat out score.
He had 61 in a D league game last year. 36 in the last regular season game and is dominating the summer league.
I posit he has a future in the NBA. Get buckets to quote Uncle Drew.

This will be the true test with Griffin as the GM. He needs to find the late first or second round gems that all of the previous administrations missed. Good drafting is really what built teams like GS and the Spurs. I'd have a hard time finding five good picks that the Cavs have made since 2003. Lebron and Kyrie are the only two can't miss picks, maybe Wiggins. TT is a good player, but there are a couple other guys in that draft I would still take over him. Boobie was good for a minute. Danny Green turn into a great pick after the Cavs cut him. I guess if I don't count Crowder who the Cavs drafted then traded I would have to count Andy and Delly since they never played for anyone else.

Hopefully McCrae can be one of those late bloomers like Green was and Felder can score well enough to cover his size issue on defense. The Cavs are going to need good young bench players if they are going to win more rings over the next 4-5 years.

Felder is really good... but he'll be absolutely abused by much much bigger guards.. he can't deal with summer league guards.. NBA guards will salivate

You'll never be able to put him on the floor in Q4

Another head scratcher===how come almost every NBA summer games hit.. like 80-90%.. from the line... all of them... but then they get to the show... and the bigs fall to 50s & 60 % ?????

Cleveland Cavaliers Rumors 2016: Cavs might eventually acquire Josh Smith instead of J.R. who’s looking for a better deal?

The Cavaliers already offered Smith $10 million to re-sign with them. However, he is asking for more guaranteed salary and is looking for a better contract deal, according to Basketball Insider. The Cavs owner Dan Gilbert is more than willing to shell out more to clinch another and back-to-back NBA championship title but the organization is now subjected far beyond the luxury tax limit.

If the Cavaliers higher up gives in to the $15 million contract deal that Smith is asking for, it could cost the front office franchise around $43 million because Gilbert has to pay around $3.75 for every dollar Smith receives in the contract. The Cavaliers’ chances of winning the title this upcoming season is slim after the former OKC Thunder star Kevin Durant joined the Golden State Warriors. Still, spending for too much money just to re-sign Smith might not be practical to the Cavaliers at all.
