Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Okay? If wishes were horses, beggars would ride. Spencer Dinwiddie is still there, and he's still playing well. What changed?

1. Irving was angry. Given some time to cool off, I imagine he would've felt differently. Do you really think he would've had unnecessary knee surgery and skipped a year of his prime? Call his bluff. The guy loves the game too much for that.

2. The Nets are trending down, but so is everyone else around them. Dallas, Memphis, Chicago, etc. have no reason to continue to win games. I had also forgotten about the Knicks, who just lost the only player keeping them afloat for the season. There's a chance that this pick is #1, but let's not pretend that there isn't an equal (or greater) chance that it's 7, 8, or 9.

1. So, basically just speculation on your part. Dude wanted out since they won the title and was going to start exerting pressure to get it. The longer it went on, the little leverage they did have was gone.

2. Funny statement after watching the bulls go all out to win last night.

Let’s not act like a floor of 8th for that Nets pick is a bad thing either. Even at that spot, you’re guaranteed one of the following: Doncic, Ayton, Bamba, Bagley, Porter Jr., Jackson, Young, or Sexton. Obviously you’d like your pick of as many of them as possible, but any of those aforementioned prospects would be of use next season, with or without LeBron.

1. That's exactly what it is. The trade happened, and I'm speculating about what would've happened had they kept him. That doesn't change the fact that he was under contract for this season and next, though. I maintain that he wouldn't have sat out for two years at age 25/26.

2. You can't use a single performance from one team as evidence when we're discussing nine teams in total.

In any case, it is what it is. The Cavs look much better today, but I still get a sick feeling in my stomach every time Irving touches the ball in a Boston uniform.

You're right, but I do think the top seven are just a cut above.
