OT: Rick Manning and Underwood should never talk about anything other than the Indians when doing a game. The other night one of them brought up Maria blasting Puerto Rico and they sort of gone off on a tangent about all the hurricanes and Manning says something to the effect like is not there another one out there named José. If nothing else, at least should know the alphabet even if he does not know that José went up the Atlantic Coast.

FYI, Jose is still active and influencing the path of Maria, according to the Weather Channel this morning:

Absolutely embarrassing performance by Tribe batters tonight: 1 run, 3 hits, 10 Ks, 0 BBs in 8 innings against career bum Erasmo Ramirez. After giving up a solo shot to Urshela to lead off the 3rd inning, Ramirez retired 18 batters in a row. Ugly stuff.

On the bright side, Bauer went 7 innings, giving up 1 run on 5 hits.

Joe Smith pitches a scoreless 8th, and the game is tied 1-1 entering the 9th.

EDIT: And Cody Allen comes in and does what he does best - groove a fastball that Nelson Cruz hits about 450 feet for the walk-off loss.

This is the Tribe that we all know and love: no offense, poor defense, waste good starting pitching, then blow the game late with the Smith-Shaw-Allen triumvirate.

You just know that the Tribe will limp to the finish line and make an early exit from the playoffs.

Mistake. Tito's loyalty to marginally talented veterans will be his downfall.

Indians beat Mariners, 4-2.

Corey Kluber (18-4) now leads the AL in wins (18), winning pct (.818), and ERA (2.27), but his near historically low WHIP (0.850) edged up a bit to 0.861 after he gave up 6 hits and 2 BBs in 7 innings
