I could see him staying and would love to see him be a Buckeye for life as a coach. He cares a lot about the program and has been a great asset to UFM. But I also would be happy for him to progress up someday if he chooses to. Could be a Larry Johnson SR. Type coach that is a Defensive Coordinator for most of his career.

I can see fickle leaving personally but I really hope he's bright enough to realize he will endure more loses in his first two years then he has his entire duration as an assistant coach at OSU.

If he can't get a middle of the road power 5 job then I'd say go to hell. If Ash can nab Rutgers then Fickle can get a place like NC State or Minnesota level.

If you fail at FAU no one will want you. Wouldn't touch those lower level jobs with a 39.5 foot poll (rolling with a Xmas pun)

Boy how anxious was Fickle watching the final selection show haha... damn I couldn't imagine knowing I was 160k richer for hitting a goal at work.

Was coming to post the same. Dakich misses a few things as well (not that he'll ever tell/admit that, cocky sob lol). He's a huge Urban guy though- basketball coach while Meyer was at BGSU. They definitely stay in touch.

A lot of smoke here, but others (more connected) are holding off before declaring anything.

You will never see another DC in college football churn out the same talent the way he did with Linebackers .

I was at the basketball game after Urban was hired when he introduced the coaching staff. The loud, sustained ovation for Luke is one of my favorite Buckeye memories. He took so much undeserved grief for things that weren't entirely under his control. It was great to have the opportunity to show him our appreciation for holding the fort during the most difficult year in our recent history. A true Buckeye all the way. I'll root for him wherever he goes.

Can't blame him but I'm sad as hell. Good luck Fick. Will always be one of my all-time favorites. I've seen a few people say he caught too much shit. imo, any shit at all was too much. He didn't even get to hire his own staff. That's not a HC. He took an enormous amount of bullshit to hold us over for a year to get Urban. If tOSU was forced to hire an actual coach at that time, where would we be now?
