Jeff Hafley (DC Green Bay Packers)

Was a little surprised at the amount of yards we gave up, and we were certainly aided by a ton of Michigan drops.

That said, they limited Patterson to 4/22 for 55 yards in second half.

If anything, today showed the importance of Shaun Wade. Wade is a stud, and IMO, is the second most important player on our defense after Chase Young. Is he as good as Okudah....prob not, but Wade has a unique skill set that allows him to play slot, or line up over TE’s and he has the physical ability to shut them down.

We missed Shaun a lot today. Point blank.

But props to our defensive staff, and their ability to make some adjustments at half, and come up big today. Wasn’t always pretty....but I’ll certainly take it. I’m looking forward to hearing Hafley’s assessment shortly.

Sounds like Hafley to BC is a done deal. He’s staying on through playoff....this is according to Barstool Sports BC so TIFWIW.

It’s a decent fit, considering Hafley’s NE roots. Man, I’d have loved him for 1 more year but it was too good to be true.

Hope the kids he was mead recruiter on don’t get cold feet without Hafley’s expertise. Carrying around the tag of “best DB coach I’ve ever had” from Richard Sherman carries weight.

I have trust in Day to find a good replacement. But I’ve been beyond impressed with Hafley. I’m a fan for life.....

BC insider

Hey folks,

I was not holding out on you there just isn’t much to report right now. Here is what I can report

1. Al Washington was not at the BC hoops game tonight with the football players.
2. Interviews and phone calls are ongoing with a variety of candidates and the search pool is widening. Some have posted about NFL candidates being interviewed or spoken with. We had a few NFL names on our initial hot board that made some sense but I can’t confirm that any of those names have interviewed
3. Based on the information available to me right now, my guess (and this is purely a guess) is that Hafley will not be the next head coach at Boston College

I’ll keep doing my best to grab inside details if new candidates emerge or interviews take place but right now there isn’t a whole lot of info out there other than what I posted above.
