Coach K's AmEx Commercials

Have you seen the American Express commercials that feature Duke's Coach Mike Krzyzewski? They show him talking about the players he's had at Duke, and how he wants them to 'develop as human beings' as well as basketball players.

The whole thing looks basically like a Duke recruiting video. And they have another commercial that features Tommy Amaker that says wonderful things about him and what the former Dukie is doing now at scUM. I managed not to throw up. Another one does show Jeff Capel, who's now the coach at VCU.

Those commercials seem like they should be borderline regarding some type of NCAA regulations, but they had to have gotten clearance for them.

Anybody else bothered by these commercials? I don't hate Coach K; I thought that the one where he showed up in the driveway after some guys were recreating the Laettner buzzer beater was pretty funny.

I don't particularly care for the commercials either. Some poster from a Kentucky site actually emailed the NCAA, and their response was that coaches are permitted to endorse products, case closed, but thanks for asking. I think they are missing what's really going on in the commercial. Coach K isn't promoting American Express, American Express is promoting Coach K and Duke. Burger King Bobby was one thing, but this is a 30 second recruiting video for Duke broadcast and its wrong. It's something that needs to be addressed.

I hate Divkie V. When he is in that pizza commercial, I want one of those guys to stuff him in the basket. His act is really old.

also coach K has that other commercial for chevy I think, where he is driving in that car and the ball is bouncing all over the place. If I see that commercial one more time I might scream.

I love the Coach K commercial where they redo Christian's shot...

I hate the car commercial cuz his involvement in the commercial doesn't make any sense except to insert an awkward scene with a bball coach...

The AmEx commercial seems very questionable but there's no way they can be forced to remove it. I hate it, but there's nothing illegal if you ask me.
