Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

23-19-4 since the 16 game win streak (basically all of the 2017 calendar year).

Now add 3 more losses. Sucks playing the Pens, but like I said, they are the not the elite of the NHL. If my math is right, that record above is 50 points in 46 games (1.09 ppg), which extrapolates out to 89 points in a season. They were barely playing at a playoff level this entire 2017.

Harsh, I know. I'm frustrated. I want a playoff series win. This ain't the year.

One thing I noticed - they stopped being over-whelmingly physical like they were before and during the streak.

They haven't been nearly physical enough with the Penwhines and it shows.

Also - Wenneberg needs to grow up. He's either not going to be who they want him to be or he needs to step up. No one believes he's going to do anything but pass. He's the most passive player on the ice every single game. And in this series, the Flyers version of Bobrovsky has re-emerged. That guy is a headcase.

Another missed call! This time a blatant elbow to the face! How is even fun rooting for a team who never gets shit called against them? Do they just sit outside the Pens locker room on their knees preparing for Pittsburgh's payment for turning a blind eye?

This first period is typical of this series, Jackets jump out firing with lots of opportunities but just nothing goes in......Penguins get a goal to go up 1-0 and the momentum totally flips and the jackets are grasping to keep it 1-0.
