Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

They had a nice streaky run but with all the injuries coupled with not being the most talented overall team to begin with its unrealistic to expect them to make the playoffs at this point. They’ve just finally hit the wall.

Seth Jones is the best player on the ice every night he is out there. Losing him was the coup de grace -- they could survive an injury to anyone other than him.

And it's really sad they couldn't get the job done in Edmonton. They really dominated that game more than the other two. It's very conceivable that a fully-healthy (or even relatively healthy) roster would have gone 3-0 on this west coast swing.

If anyone ever has doubts about the extent of the injuries, Boone Jenner is centering the 1st line right now.

The Calgary game hurt more, I think. They snatched 2 points away and turned it into 1. The insane amount of overtime losses is going to end up biting them in the ass. Like I said before if they even win 1/3rd of the 15 OTLs, they are sitting in a pretty good spot right now. A mostly healthy roster likely accomplished that IMO.

True - although I think Calgary really outplayed them for long stretches, especially in the 3rd. It wasn't like that in the Edmonton game at all. Even a drop of puck luck and that game is 5-1 at worst for the CBJ going into the 3rd. It was a very odd game (could be chalked up to "one of those nights")....but 3 points out of 6 is better than 1 I guess. Could have been 5 or 6 out of 6.
