"Community" / Parks & Recreation

NFBuck

Total Coverage.
  • At this point, 'Community' might be the funniest show on television (with a nod to 'Modern Family'). After taking a while to find it's footing, it's now damn strong week in and week out. Abed may be my favorite character on television right now.

    "Community"

Time for the best show on television (my IMO) to have it's own thread.

This week's episode was built around a game of 'Dungeons & Dragons' and was one of the funniest 23 minutes of television of the year. What other show could pull that off?

Best moment of the night, seeing Annie (muted) mouthing "I take out my huge member". :slappy:

The drug episode was probably in my top ten tv episodes of all time. Cheng's second act performance was fucking legendary. I was in tears. I fucking love this show, and I'm glad Chevy could put his ego aside to make great tv.

I've loved Community from the first episode so I'm glad it's starting to get some buzz on here. If anyone is looking for a show to pick up start here.
I think you have to watch it from the begining to get all the character developments. I don't think somebody who watches the next episode would get Abed at all.

I get kind of changry when people don't give enough credit to Community. Awesome show.

But I'm afraid it is going to go the way of Arrested Development. I hope it doesn't but it seems like most people don't "get" Community, like AD.

This is my fear as well. It's such a smart show, most of the dumbass, Black Eyed Peas worshipping American public doesn't have the intelligence or attention span to truly appreciate how great this show is. If it does eventually get the axe, I hope it goes into full-on "don't give a fuck" mode like AD did in it's final season.

I don't think it's as bad as AD. I watched the first episode of season 2 of AD when it was new and didn't get it. It took watching it on Netflix this past summer for me to really get it. Even then my wife didn't get it, but she loves Community. If my wife and I like the same show it has a chance.

This. My wife is more in to mainstream entertainment, pop culture, what is popular. I'm more in to independent movies / music. If we can both enjoy a show or movie, it could have staying power. We love Community. The Troy & Abed in the morning skits are ridiculous.
