Hell man that still leaves a ton of possibilities. I would just reinstall Windows. Did you try removing Bit Tornado?

Also, I hate Geforce vid cards, had SO many problems with them. :)

Might even wanna try doing vid driver updates and such.

Not necisarily a hardware problem.. most likely a software problem..

You never did say what version of Windows you have.. I am guessing XP since you said you got is Dec. 2002.

Pull out your Windows Disk and do a Windows repair.

computer fine, install bit torrent client, computer bad.


uninstall bit tornado and try azureus or shadows experimental client.

azureus requires java but seems to be the best BT program out there. shadows doesn't need java and works pretty good too.

He already said he uninstalled the BitTorrent program after it started. That did not correct it.

I have never had the repair work on XP.......always just end up formatting. Course I format mine once every 6 months or so, just for the hell of it, keeps things running much nicer.

I used to do the same thing... but now I format about every year or so...

multiple hard drives help a lot.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that he routinely had to delete things as those hard drives quickly fill up.. haha.

One of the guys that works for me has like 1.6 TB.........unbelievable :)

I have never used more than 80 gig at a time, actually I dont know if I have ever had 40 gig in use.

There are so many things that XP Repair works for... corrupt files being one of them.

Corruption i can see it fixing........but a problem like he is having, not real sure. Worth a try though.

That's the thing.. not real sure..

Without physically looking at it.. that problem could be hundreds of things.. it's worth a shot at trying before taking it in to get it looked at by someone else.

I would say try the repair, if that doesnt work, back up yo shit and format........if that doesnt work, it's definitely hardware, have somebody look at it, so they can swap out pieces to narrow down what it might be.

Well.. I would do the format last.. no reason to cause you all that work if it's not the problem.
