Courtney Brown to be Released

My girlfriend's brother is a trainer at Case and works with the doctors who have worked on Brown. He said the injury that Brown had last year was career ending. You can't trade someone who can't play anymore.

Its amazing the way his career in Cleveland has turned out, coming out of PSU he was at the top of everyone's wish list, this was not a reach on Cleveland's part, this is just simply a guy who had no injury problems in college and then coming to the pros and can't stay on the field. :shake:

No doubt that this kind of drafting will get a couple of coaches fired...

1999 1st - Couch (#1 Overall) - Cut (Passed on McNabb)
1999 2nd - K. Johnson - Cut
2000 1st - Brown (#1 Overall) - Soon to be Cut (Passed on Arrington)
2000 2nd - Northcutt - Good #3 WR and Return Man
2001 1st - Warren (#3 Overall) - Cut (Passed on Tomlinson)
2001 2nd - Morgan - Traded for Bryant - Very Little
2002 1st - Green (#16 Overall) - Done Very Little (Passed on Javon Walker)
2002 2nd - Andre Davis - Done Very Little
2003 1st - Jeff Faine (#21 Overall) - Jury Still Out
2003 2nd - Chaun Thompson - Jury Still OUt
2004 1st - Kellen Winslow (#6 Overall) - Injured - Jury Still Out (Passed on Roy Williams, Reggie Williams, and Big Ben)
2004 2nd - Sean Jones - Injured - Jury Still Out

So their best pick the last 6 years has been Dennis Northcut, who I think is a pretty good player but when you have the following:
#1
#1
#3
#16
#21
#6

You need more than that...

Listen, the guy just can not stay healthy, if the redskins want him, go ahead....good luck.
If he agrees to sign at the vet minimum I would go for that. But no zillion dollar contract until he proves he can stay healthy. But with the Danny in charge all bets are off.

he's going to want at least 2.5-3.5 million per year, with a signing bonus. if he could be gotten ata bargain price, cleveland would have restructured him instead of releasing him. plus cleveland wasnt going to pay his roster bonus.
