So at E3 today they announced several games coming out this year that you can Cross-Buy, Cross-Save, and Cross-Play with windows 10 PC.

    Games confirmed so far:

    Gears Of War 4

    Forza Horizon 3

    Recore

    ARK Survival

    Dead Rising 4

    Scalebound

    State of Decay 2

    Halo Wars 2

Rocket League has been cross-platform for about a month now. 9 times out of 10, I get destroyed by PC players on there, but it's definitely nice adding that many players to the playlists.

The "play anywhere" sounds awesome as well, mainly because my brother and I can split the cost on a lot of games. These games you can play on both Windows 10 and Xbox 1:
    • Forza Horizon 3
    • Gears of War 4
    • Halo Wars 2
    • Recore
    • Scalebound
    • Sea of Thieves
    • State of Decay 2
    • We Happy Few

can you "play anywhere" without significant delays, like when recovering profiles in the past?

I'm guessing you just log into your windows account.. But I dunno exactly how it's done
