Hoping he pulls through. I heard in an interview with a cardiologist this happens in sports, but is of course rare. The heart is vulnerable to this happening in just a 20 to 30 millisecond window after a collision like that.

Great to hear.

This situation reminds me a little of the Leach situation. Obviously some key differences in circumstances, but some similarities as well.

The one thing that I read about the Leach situation was it took them some time to get him the equipment/help he needed for his condition. Some people who know a lot more about medical situations than me have posited that that factor may have led to him dying. Hopefully in this case the ability to get Damar help immediately could end up saving his life.

Damar Hamlin had to be resuscitated twice, uncle tells CNN

From CNN’s Jamiel Lynch

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin’s uncle Dorrian Glenn said his nephew is still sedated at UC Health after having to be resuscitated twice.

“His heart had went out so they had to resuscitate him twice. They resuscitated him on the field before they brought him to the hospital and then they resuscitated him a second time when they got him to the hospital,” he told CNN’s Adrienne Broaddus outside of the hospital.
Glenn thanked the medical staff, saying, “If not for them my nephew probably wouldn’t be here.
