Darnay Holmes (CB New York Giants)

I wanted him to be a buckeye don't get me wrong, I just understand how important family mattered. I believe UCLA has sent players to the league before too and imagine he knows he will make it there no matter where he plays.
I've never been one to really care where any individual recruit goes to school. Ohio State will get their fair share, and in 2017 we're getting way more than our fair share.

But if family matters so much, then the family should realize that this is a business decision, and right now (and for the foreseeable future) the best paths to the NFL go through Columbus and Tuscaloosa (followed closely by Clemson and Tallahassee). Westwood? Not so much.

You can honestly get to the NFL from almost anywhere, as long as you're prepared. UCLA could easily prepare him for the next level as well as OSU. Like you said, OSU has gotten more than their fair share in 2017. Good luck to Darnay in Westwood, he may not be heard from much, until maybe when he's able to play on Sundays

Yep. It's not like UCLA is Podunk Institute of Technology. It just seems he was pressured into staying home just for his family. I hope his family is just as happy when he gets drafted by Buffalo in 3-4 years.

I certainly know that LJB can speak for himself but I think this is what he was referring to.. The quality of coaching at Ohio State is much different than the quality of coaching at UCLA at least it has been in past years..

I'm sure they will be when he's cashing million dollar checks and buying their homes...

I'm sure the numerous guys that UCLA has in the league(Barr, Jack, Hundley, Ayers, Verner, etc) would say that the coaching and facilities were just fine...
And I'm not trying to say that it equates to OSU, but he'll be fine, and if he produces, he'll be playing on Sundays. OSU will be fine, heck we have Wade, Okudah, Williamson, Riep(and possibly Sheffield); Holmes was just icing on an already amazing cake

Can't we just enjoy our sour grapes with Holmes' nephew?

Disappointed obviously because I had Wade, Okudah, LeCounte and Holmes in my dream class from the beginning. But no one is crying for Ohio State. Okudah was the icing on the cake of a very strong and balanced DB class with Wade, Pryor, Williamson and Riep. OSU is loaded at the DB position in this class with Sheffield still a very real possibility. Down the stretch Holmes' recruitment had all the shenanigans of an AAU basketball situation. Would have loved to have him because UCLA is getting two studs in Holmes and Jaelan Phillips.
