David "LLLL" Dawson (OL ttun)

IMO, the sec is just another conference. They have the luxury of playing in ideal conditions year round and having the "world wide leader" as their mouth piece which helps immensely in recruiting.

But if you look top to bottom they are just another good conference:
Alabama, LSU and Florida at the top.

Tenn., Georgia, South Carolina are the second tier teams.

Then you have teams like Miss. St., Ole Miss, Vandy, AM, Kentucky, Arkansas, Auburn that just suck.

Just like every other major conference they have some great teams, some good teams, and some teams that suck.

Again, they have the luxury of espin blowing their horn daily and they have the luxury of playing in ideal conditions all year long.

A&M and Miss St. are in the top 25 this year, Auburn won the NC not too long ago, and I guess you don't remember playing Arky in the Sugar Bowl. Indiana, they are not.

From the free part of the article:

"I want to look at a few other schools close to home, and that might play a factor in the long run. That's mainly because of all the things my family has been through in the last year, so I feel that maybe I should try to stay close to my support system."
I am a geek; I can help. Let's "do the numbers":

3 hours 24 minutes, Cass to Ohio Stadium.
Three hours 44 minutes, Cass to Notre Dame.
5 hours 23 minutes, Cass to Purdue.
6 hours 6 minutes, Cass to Bloomington.

Question for the BPRT. Any thoughts on the staff's preference between Dawson and Johnson?

I would guess they'd prefer Johnson due to lack of pure tackles, but I see there has been mention that Dawson could possibly play tackle (I thought he was 100% a Guard). I haven't watched much film and I only know the basics of a T vs G......height/longer arms/athleticism etc.

Yes, I still firmly believe Dawson ends up at UF, but it never hurts to learn something new.

I thought Dawson's a guard too. But I also thought the other M*ch*gan guy, whats his name, (Findley?) was a guard too, so what do I know...

It's all speculative with kids this age. I thought for sure Marcus Hall would be a tackle and look where he's ended up. I'd say the safest bet is that Dawson ends up at guard...a really good guard. Johnson has the length and feet to play tackle. He's more of a risk/reward guy for me. High ceiling but it's going to take some work. I think the staff would gladly take both so that it frees up another spot for another position in the '14 class. I'd like to see them consistently bring in 3-4 linemen per year. There is no need to take 6 in a given year if you are keeping a good influx of good talent.

He's the most unsilent silent to Florida ever. The only way he doesn't end up there is if he gets cold feet about being so far away from home.
Maybe Florida, for good reason, told the kid not to commit until he's 100% ready to be a Florida commit.

He's a great kid, highly motivated .. never seen a high school OG so obsessed with getting drafted before, but he has some baggage, mostly the result of things that weren't in his control, and I ultimately think the best thing for him is to leave the state/region all together. I wish him the best of luck.
