DB Amir Riep (Official Thread)

Riep is the 16th verbal for the class of 2017, and the 12th to be a top-100 prospect in at least one of the three main recruiting services (Rivals, Scout, 247).
Also, not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere but Riep committing makes OSU have 13 out of our 16 commits that were invited to the Opening(with of course 12 participating)! Not to mention 9 of 16 are top 5 in their respective positions!

Thrilled to see this. I really believe getting Riep was crucial. Not just from talent (and to that end, I legitimately believe he could end up being the best DB in our class...even if that class includes S. Wade, L. Wade and Okudah), but for securing Cincy. Colerain is of course a critical pipeline school that we need to keep other schools out of. He is going to be a perfect fit for our defense and program...would not be surprised to see him not redshirt and at the very least contribute on special teams in a big way. Ideal size, love his physical play and very fluid in coverage.

A ton of likes from this board should go out to @Honor&Glory , he always does an excellent job of keeping us informed on Colerain prospects and really respects the privacy of the process for the kids. Always know we are appreciative. I will join him in saying that I too love seeing Colerain kids become Buckeyes.

Wait till you see him return punts. I used to think Eugene Clifford was electric. Amir is better in every facet.
That's saying a lot! Clifford was very talented(just a bone head off the field) and one of the best DBs I've seen at the HS level in person. One of my biggest "whatsl ifs" in Buckeye lore. Can't wait to see Riep. Seems like a humble kid with his head on straight

Colerain with a come from behind 31-28 win today over Warren Central (IN). The plays of the game were Amir returning a punt from the 15 all they way to the WC 35 with 1:39 remaining. Colerain scored 5 plays later. The other was Amir breaking up the 4th down pass at the end of the game with a rib breaking hit.

He gave me an O-H! After the game. Lol. Love this kid.
