DB Corey "Pittsburgh" Brown (DB Coach Slippery Rock Univ.)

What I am saying is this: to sign 25 or more than 25, you need some of the current players to leave, otherwise it violates the 85 total limit. Now the coaches may know some players are likley to leave early or transfer, so they may be planning for a class bigger than 25. Perfectly consistent with my post, which is just telling you how the math works.

Your first post wasn't entirely accurate as you mentioned that we would have to lose players by February to account for early enrollees, etc. when in fact it doesn't really matter when they leave. We could have guys transfer in March, April, etc. and the result would be the same.

It would be great to get as many of these guys (especially Corey and his teammate Dorian Bell) here early as possible since there will be a ton of open starting spots with the huge group of seniors departing. Would be nice to have a really strong spring competition with guys like Corey Brown and CJ Barnett competing with young vets like Chekwa, Scott, Evege and those guys for playing time.

But you also know Tressel never did that in the past (oversign and counting on players to leave in the spring and summer) and this is not how he operates. So if you want me to acknowledge that I was not 100 percent accurate, you get it -- you are right. But, don't you think practically what you are saying is irrelavant?

In any case, as the administrator reminded us, this thread is about Corey Brown. So this is my last post on the issue.

Don't understand the waiting here...Bell begged tOSU to offer Brown, he got the offer, it is known that he likes the Buckeyes, and he has to know that spots are filling fast...If I was in his shoes I would of already pulled the trigger...Or maybe he has already told the staff he is coming, just wants to take a visit or two...

I think he is enjoying the attention (most would!). I think it's fun for schools having these big name coaches showing up on campus and stuff. When all is said and done, he will be wearing S&G!!! That's all I care about!

I think he just wants to tell the coaches in person.

Yeah that is probably true, I was just going off the comment about wanting to decide after his season started...

I thought the same thing. I don't think he wants an offer just to make his list look good though...my gut says this doesn't last more than a month or two so Brown ensures himself a spot.

By A Jardy at the Ohio State site. Brown says that he is high on Michigan, Ohio State, West Virginia, North Carolina and Pitt. He will visit Ohio State next week and says he doesn't think he will verbal on his visit, as he would want to talk it over with his family first. He knows their (OSU) class is filling up quickly, but has not been pressured to verbal.
