Cass Tech CB Damon Webb is the best kid I've seen in OSU 2-day camp. GUARANTEED he gets offered.

The kid hasn't even entered his junior year in high school, and he's supposed to commit on the spot when offered?

Pretty sure you guys have had youngsters commit on the spot once they got the OSU offer.

Regardless, I wasn't surprised he didn't commit right away. But I will be surprised if he doesn't end up at UM.

Cass Tech aided by Brother Rice errors in season-opening win

Damon Webb forced a turnover that Joe Journey scooped up and turned into a 16-yard touchdown Saturday night and Rice failed to convert an extra point that helped provide Cass Tech with a 25-18 victory over defending Division 2 champ Birmingham Brother Rice before an overflow crowd at Wayne State.

With 9:38 left to play and the score tied, Webb smacked a Rice receiver, who fumbled the ball at Rice's 16-yard line. Journey was trailing the play and picked up the loose ball and then raced into the end zone for a 19-12 lead.

Jourdan Lewis dropped a pass in the end zone for Cass, but on the next possession Jayru Campbell (11 of 24, 160 yards, one touchdown, one interception) completed a bubble screen pass to Webb, who raced 46 yards for a 6-5 lead with 10:17 left in the second quarter.

O-Zone - Michael?s Sunday Recruiting Rundown

8/26

Damon Webb (5-11, 170, DB, 2014, Detroit):

A source close to Damon Webb indicated the 2014 cornerback is very high on Ohio State and has formed a close relationship with OSU cornerbacks coach Kerry Coombs. Webb attended Friday Night Lights and was really impressed. The four schools that are sticking out so far are: Ohio State, LSU, Michigan State and Michigan. A source indicated that Webb, a native of Detroit, would prefer to play close to home so his parents can watch him. Webb also has family in Baton Rouge, but grew up a fan of the University of Michigan so the Wolverines may have a slight edge.

The source did indicate that visiting schools outside of Michigan has opened Webb?s eyes and expanded his thinking. If other schools like Florida and Alabama get into the mix, the battle could rage even higher to keep Webb in the B1G. When asked where the source felt Webb would attend, indications were all four schools were on an equal plain.
