DB Dustin Fox (National Champion)

Im not a big fox fan, but he is a natural saftey, though he is the corner we have. You can hate on the kid, but he shows up and plays ard every week, and how long has he started for? Forget that they have to roll a backer over to the flat, and he needs saftey help, he must be better than what we got or he wouldnt be playing.

Yeah, and forget that we had to give Gamble safety help in the 2003 Fiesta Bowl, and Gamble is a "natural" wide receiver...we saw what position he got drafted for.

IMO, Fox is a gamer. He gets picked on week in and week out and he is rarely beaten deep. He gives up alot of stuff underneath. I'm not sure if it is his fault or if it is the system. I have always been pretty vocal about him playing so far off his man, but maybe the coaches designed it this way. It seems like he is always playing 10-12 yards off his man, while Gamble would play alot closer.

Its sad to say, but if Fox were black this would never come up.

He's played for 3 years against top level competition and no one has ever been able to expose this Safety playing CB. He runs a 4.4 forty and has damn near a 40" vertical iirc and every freakin male member of his family has played major D1 football as a DB. How hard is it to realize the guy is just an exceptional athlete? Don't even get me started on how dumb it makes someone look to think our coaching staff has let the guy play his whole career out of position.

Boundry corner is a different world than field side and Dustin Fox plays an exceptional boundry corner. He's physical with WR's, supports the run and tackels well in space. Text book definition of the BCB.

Fox is an underrated player. He's been in the shadow of Chris Gamble for the past couple years. ".

The 'white' shadow ?

I'm expecting him to have another solid season. If E.J can get the praise he did from JT, then it should make DF's job that much easier.

:oh: :io:

Like I said before in my many posts before all this, playing Corner is like being stranded all alone with no help. He will always be up to the challenge play after play. He sure is a gamer. Have a great season Dustin.

Wow it's good to be noticed.

I have nothing more to say on this, I have been clear that I think he is the biggest weakness on our defense and it is clear to me that if me that his lack of cover corner ability creates one of the best chances for us to loose a game.

Thats all there is to it.

Black power, bring whitey down, you bunch of cracker ass crackers.

BTW, I don't know if it matters, but I do happen to be white you dumb ass racist that think of everything in those terms. I look at the skill, and I am sorry but it just isn't there.

We've been over this so many times, I'm done.

Killer - I agree with you about the racist shit, that's just ridiculous. You have never said anything to indicate you were racist, or even that you think Fox isn't a good CB because of his race. The rest of you need to back off that argument, it's pathetic. I'm sick and tired of people pulling the "race card". It's juvenile and ignorant. Even if somebody comes out and says that the CB position should be played by a black athlete, that isn't in and of itself racism. It's a stupid statement, and a huge over-generalization, but it is not necessarily insulting to whites or discriminatory in any way. But Killer has never made this argument, so let it go.

As for Fox being a liability, I do agree with the majority here. Fox has done nothing but prove himself, time and time again. Killer, you are entitled to your opinion, and I can respect anyone's opinion, at least when it is solidified and reinforced by facts or stats. This is my problem with your argument. 3 years of experience, rarely if ever allowing a deep TD reception, being an exceptional tackler, posting one of the fastest Buckeye 40 times, and having a 40 inch vertical leap are all stats to back up my argument that Fox is a good, in fact great, cornerback. Show me something aside from your opinion to rebut this.
