CB Eli Apple (All B1G, National Champion, Miami Dolphins)

I understood the immediate reference but rather than immediately jumping to a keyboard and making a statement as if it's fact without any insider info or fact based link struck me as unwarranted

I'm in a bit of a unique position in that I wanted Woodard for OSU.. but Rutgers does have a strong attraction with the NJ boys.. ala Anthony Davis, Mohamad Sanu, Kenny Britt, Tiquan Underwood, Jeremy Zuttah, the McCourty brothers... that I think transcends Schiano.. so until the next coach is named... I'm not convinced anyone based in Jersey is moving.. yet

Spittal thinks Ohio State is Woodard's No. 1 choice. Woodard says he thinks Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Rutgers are his top three.

"I have the best relationship with those schools," Woodard said. "I've been to all three. I went to camp at all three schools last summer. I feel comfortable with all three."

In keeping with a recent trend in recruiting, Woodard has become a hot prospect more for his performances in camp settings and combine-style workouts than as a player at Eastern. He played in just seven games for the Vikings last season because of a bruised kidney, but that didn't lower his stock. He has been timed in 4.5 seconds in the 40-yard dash.

"Everybody and their brother wants him," Spittal said.

Woodard plans to visit Ohio State in February to meet with new coach Urban Meyer, who coached Trautwein and those two national-title teams at Florida. Woodard will probably visit a couple other schools during spring practice, and attend a few camps this summer.

"I hope to make a commitment before the start of my senior season," Woodard said. "The big thing for me is just to take my time. I don't want to rush. I want to enjoy this process but I also want to enjoy being in school and just being a regular student."
