CB Gareon Conley (D.C. Defenders)

Don't you think these agents need to tell these guys to live like monks for 90 days leading up to the draft given there are 10s of millions of dollars on the line?

If all you do is go to the workout facility, go home, maybe a few media things, and maybe to church, and you get rid of the homies, and are only alone with female relatives, seems like you are almost 100% protected by living above accusation.

Then after you sign, have a big party and an orgy if you are into that kind of thing - and don't mind assuming those risks. But to throw away draft position and the dollars that go with it before it even happens is beyond stupid.

My point exactly. Not saying you can't have fun but your risks go through the roof if you go out late, hang out with people you don't know, and drink alcohol.

I'm a low risk kind of guy and if I had 20 million on the line over 5 years like hell I'm doing anything that puts that at risk.

Seldomly you hear of professional athletes getting in trouble at house parties. The trouble is always at a hotel, at a bar, a strip club or a driving incident.

Just stay away from those places and you're home free pretty much. Just make it easy on yourself but most professional athletes again put themselves in these situations all the time

If it weren't for all the strange women hookups, I'd have left college after my 2nd year. That's all that kept my interest as the actual education part was fairly easy.
I know what you mean, but you were lucky because at least the hookups were a challenge. Imagine how bored you would have been if your animal magnetism had been as mighty as your intellect.

Shocker but Miss Brooke seems to have lied to the police. Apparently I'm the only one who saw this coming on #WokeBuckeyePlanet

You mean you (might have) guessed correctly.

Look, I won't deny that it is hard not to be jaded after the (since disproven) allegations against Zeke and other football players in the past.

However, you and I have literally 0 personal knowledge of the situation. The fact of the matter is, girls do get raped, and most rapes actually go unreported. Just because someone wore a Scarlet jersey on Saturdays, does not mean they are a saint.

Secondly, there's nothing wrong with being skeptical or considering someone 'innocent until proven guilty' - the problem most people had with your statement is that you were 100% convinced the girl was lying based of nothing more than gut instinct. Being 100% convinced of something before the facts are released, and refusing to even consider alternative explanations, is cutting dangerously close to Joe Pa truther / PedState territory.

I had a young, very nice-looking married professional woman in my office a while back whose job required travel and doing social events with some high-end folks. I can’t remember how she got connected in this particular case, but she met Rob Gronkowski in Florida at some business meeting, and he invited her and another woman she worked with to come to a party at a house he had there.

She didn’t know anything about his reputation, but said he seemed very nice and professional. Still, she knew about the reputation of NFL players. She called her husband, and he told her to go, but only with someone else, and to leave if anything hinky happens.

She arrived, and there were about 100 people attending. First thing she had to do was show her ID to Gronk’s security, they checked a list, and they searched her purse. Then she had to surrender her phone and all electronic devices. She was then allowed in. She said there were two parties going on. The bigger party she was having was with people sipping drinks and casually talking. The other party involved a few sets of guys and women going upstairs, back down, back up. She said she didn’t know what was going on up there, and didn’t want to know. But she said that her experience was fine, she never felt uncomfortable, no one harassed or hit on her, etc. After an hour she left, got her stuff back, and went to her hotel.

But there are some lessons in there. Gronk wants to party, but all attendees are invited, he is in control of the venue, no one can get a gun or anything else in, no recording devices are allowed, and his security basically makes sure that the party isn’t going to end up on the front page the next day – either because nothing happened or because there is no evidence of it happening.

If one of those women going upstairs made an accusation, the police would interview all attendees and most of them would have said all they saw was people sipping drinks and chatting.

Gronk’s lifestyle may not be what I would choose, but he ain’t dumb. His parties have obviously been well thought out. That’s how you protect yourself - if you don't want to go the monk route. :)

You can control your environment at a house party. Anywhere else you can't

Another athlete will pay the price for that
