DB Jamario O'Neal (official thread)

Glenville will play Canton McKinley in the state semifinals on Saturday at Massillon Paul Brown Tiger Stadium.

This is the furthest any Cleveland public school has made it in the playoffs.

Big day for Glenville.

Picked up tickets to the Glenville-McKinley semifinal game on Tuesday. Looking forward to seeing Jamario, Freddie, & Co. in action. I'm also hoping to see TG, Donte, and Troy at the game as well.

Maybe someone can enlighten me to what a tarblooder is.

A "tarblooder" is a railroad term, referring to the workers who laid down the heavy ties and cemented them with tar. They were considered hard-working and dedicated men who went far beyond the pale in doing their jobs.

O'Neal just needs to look at all the players at OSU and the success they have. Whitner, Smith and Ginn. The only player from Glennville that has not done much is Marcus Hiley. I'm not sure if he is still on the team.

He'll get a chance to play and play early if history repeats itself.

Also, aren't Ginn Jr. and O'Neal good friends? I think O'Neal was at the Army Allstar game with Ginn last year.

I would say O'Neal is as solid a verbal as we can get.

I haven't seen him play but from what I read about him he has great potential.

Jamario lives with the Ginn family. He considers Teddy a brother. The only person who thought Jamario was looking elsewhere was The Lemming.

i went to scout.com and posted a message to "the insiders" but hav'nt gotton a response. It's weird that they are not on thier Army all american roster. Especially O'Neal being thier #1 ranked cornerback and them supposably having some influence on the selection process now. And if they were invited then they can't take that back can they? maybye it's just a mistake on thier charts.

but the game is only supposed to feature 78 players and scout.com list 76 all ready. Seems like it would be a pretty big coincidence that they just forgot to leave off the #1 CB and the # 27 LB who go to the same HS.

Not sure about the whole AA game roster, but I did see Jamario in person at the McKinley-Glenville playoff game. He's definetly the real deal. The 98 yard punt return was something special to see live. Not only did he field it at the 2 among heavy traffic after the ball had bounced a couple times, but he went about 5 yards deep into his own end zone to avoid the defense, and then outran all of them for the touchdown. So, all told, he really covered about 105 yards or so on the return. And, after that, McKinley wisely decided to punt it directly out of bounds from then on.

It was awesome. I'm already having dreams of him and teddy doing returns together. There would be no escape!!!
