DB Marcus Hooker (transfer to Youngstown St.)

If only the younger Bellasari would have played safety......

For the younger guys, Steve Bellasari running down and covering kicks as a true freshman in 1998 looked like Jeff Okudah looked doing the same in 2017. He was clearly on a different level athletically.

Then he tried to play QB.

I was 7 and just starting to understand football and sports in general at that time. I remember him on special teams. One of my earliest and favorite memories.

By the way, the early inter webs tried to compare his QBing favorably to Germaine. I read many a post leading up to the Kickoff Classic Miami game on the Ozone that thought he'd be Germaine on steroids. Dunno about the steroids part, but the Germaine bit...not so much.

Didn't the Rams try him out as a DB as well? I remember the tackles on the kickoffs and the jumping around afterwards. Simply awesome.

I attended that Kickoff Classic! It marked a low point in Buckeye QB play. Just awful! But that whole team seemed in disarray. It's a lot different when you have a loaded team and great coaching like we have now. Marcus will find a home where he can excel. He would be a great kickoff returner!

I remember that game so well... I had to have only been 10 or so but I remember pretty quickly into that game thinking "I wonder if power rangers are on"
