Cut loose for a DUI? Can you cite a precedent for a player ever being dismissed for a first time DUI offense? On any team?

Was a bit more than a DUI.

"driving under the influence, disregarding traffic lane, careless driving, no rear lights and purchase of alcoholic beverage by a minor."

Wasn't referring to cut on the spot but more so at the end of this season if he doesn't shine bright.

Marcus was also the lowest ranked member of his recruiting class, at an upperlevel program. Its the type of thing a coach can point to at the end of his freshman season when they need to find a scholarship for a 5 or high 4 star player that wants in the program.

His last name probably buys him a bit of safety that a 3 star from out of state without that last name wouldn't have imo.

I frankly agree, and I would like to think that the name is more about family than it is on field potential. I’m going to just let myself believe that... mmmmm-k?

Having worked in New Castle for several years (while living in Ohio), I can confirm substance abuse is rampant and there's nothing to do there. Also having lived there for a few years when I initially got the job, I know first hand the police just sit on Route 18 and wait for anything to give them a reason. That said, while having been followed home late at night by the police I never once got busted - probably because I stayed in my lane and didn't have a broken tail light.

I hope this is a life lesson for Marcus, and getting to campus - and away from New Castle - opens his eyes. Time will tell.

This is a real judgment issue (as hypocritical as it is for me to type that) and, given his ranking/etc, he probably only gets one mulligan. It's a shame that he's already burnt it. Now, I imagine it will all be on him. He'll have to grind to keep up with the 4/5-star guys already there and who're coming. I hope it works out for him, but I'm guessing he winds up transferring.

Live Updates from Urban Meyer Radio Show – 10.4.18

Marcus Hooker has been cleared to play and will play this week.

Entire article: https://theozone.net/2018/10/live-updates-urban-meyer-radio-show-10-4-18/
Will be interesting to see how he does. I know he is a true freshmen but his brother sure came out and played at a high level. Maybe he will show some spark and have better instincts than Pryor or Wint..eventhough Pryor has shown progress and I think can get there. Wint, just don't know if he has the natural ability to play at an elite level.
