CB Marshon Lattimore (2017 NFL Def ROY, 3x Pro Bowl, New Orleans Saints)

0:22 is about all you need to see...absolutely no speed lost off a purely lateral move. Guy is just so smooth and athletic. Best overall skill position athlete in Ohio I have seen since Ginn (and no disrespect to Jalin Marshall, who is an outstanding overall player in his own right). Not saying he is on that level, but might deserve to be in the same conversation at the end of the year. No way Marshon plays anywhere but on offense, just way too explosive to not put the ball in his hands. Hands down the top player in Ohio for 2014.

Somewhat off-topic, but it's sad to see that we've come to the point where we are excited about an Ohio kid having always wanted to play for Ohio State.

I take it more along the lines of a kid who is just starting his junior year has actually said who he has always wanted to play for. So many kids give general answers and teams they are thinking about but are noncommital. Hopefully he is a Buckeye because he is a heck of a player and the crop of OH players is filthy.

Anyways, come on down Mr. Lattimore. Next year's class is looking filthy

I've always been excited by Ohio kids that grew up wanting to be a Buckeye.

Let's face it. Recruiting is more of a national game in this era. Kids grow up exposed to every major college program on ESPN, etc.

I agree with bill Lucas, recruiting and cb is more on a national scale now with so many advances in technology. Just because a kid grows up in a certain state, doesn't mean he necessarily is fan of his states school. A number of kids that are in high school now grew up seeing dominant usc teams and mostly sec teams and even Miami fl teams.

I think it's not "we have come to the point" rather we are" now back the point", after the beating the program has suffered for almost a year and a half. During that time recruits were almost been forced to say; "I'm keeping my options open". I think the Akron LB Booker, has also made it just about as clear that it's OSU or bust for him.:)

This kid just popped up on the radar to most of us and in a class that has been said to be a little weak by Ohio's standards, I think we're all pretty excited that the possible #1 kid won't be a very tough pull.

We've also lost some top kids in recent years(Thomas, Kalis, DePriest), can't take anyone for granted.

That won't happen very often under Urban...
