Bama starting off really bad recruiting this year. This early in the process the avg star rating is the best guage of recruiting class this far. On rivals they are sitting at 24th whereas in past years they have been top 5 avg recruit stars from feb to feb. Saban isn't the type of coach that wins by coaching up 3 star athletes and turning them into NFL guys like dantonio does. He wins by out recruiting everyone else and banking on his guys being more talented with little coaching required.

I think they'll still end up in the top 5-10. A number of players in the south still have Bama high on their lists. I believe last year around this time a number of Buckeye fans complained about the same thing, that OSU had few recruits and was ranked low. Alabama will be fine in the end. But they won't be as high as OSU
