they had some direct quotes from the coach and said something about another saftey maybe committing to alabama before vonn...the article wasn't too over the top...

if that saftey does commit, maybe it does increase our chances with v-smooth...

With his junior + senior film, plus his performance at the UA game, it is a freaking joke he isn't a consensus 5 star. Hands down the best ball skills of any DB in the 2013 class and an unreal all-around athlete. I see a Tyrann Mathieu-like skillset. Could also be an elite return man at the next level on top of safety. Would be so pumped if he came and that would have to make our DB group the tops in the country.

S: Bell, Thompson
CB: Burrows, Apple, Conley(?)
Star: Worley, Lee(?)

I would like to think that Bama getting another 5* safety this late in the recruiting process would really help our chances of landing Bell. They do have 3 other DB's verbally committed in this class already but none of them safeties. Conner is a Mississippi kid and favoring Ole Miss still so my hopes of this news actually helping our chances of getting Bell in this class may not be good news after all. Conner announcing decision on feb 3rd.

I could totally see Saban telling Conner to wait until signing day to announce his decision so he could snake both Safeties. I really don't trust that guy at all.

About time somebody takes Smart away, he has needed a promotion yesterday (Urban has alluded to this too). Even if true, still think Saban is the determinant factor here.
