I've been wondering if there's been any news on that front. Should he win that case, he'd be living pretty PHAT in 43210... not that he isn't likely already living pretty well... but you know...

Ohio State DC Greg Schiano named 247Sports’ Big Ten Recruiter of the Year
Ohio State fans knew Greg Schiano could put together a fierce defense, and he’s done that in each of his first two seasons.
But Schiano, who coach Urban Meyer hired as his defensive coordinator in 2016, can also recruit. He played a role in the Buckeyes landing seven prospects for what became the nation’s second-ranked recruiting class for 2018.
And his work on the recruiting trail hasn’t gone unnoticed. On Monday, 247Sports’ named Schiano its 2017 Big Ten Recruiter of the Year.

For the first time ever, an Ohio State assistant coach will make more than $1 million in annual salary.
In fact, two Ohio State assistant coaches will make at least that much in 2018, as returning defensive coordinator Greg Schiano and recently promoted offensive coordinator Ryan Day – who both turned down potential opportunities to become an NFL assistant or a college head coach this offseason – will now be the highest-paid assistant coaches in Ohio State history.
Schiano's new contract is for one year worth $1.5 million, while Day's new contract is a three-year deal worth $1 million per year.
All 10 Ohio State assistant coaches have signed new contracts for the 2018 season, with new assistants Alex Grinch and Taver Johnson, running backs coach Tony Alford and defensive line coach Larry Johnson each signing two-year deals and offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson, linebackers coach Bill Davis, offensive line coach Greg Studrawa and wide receivers coach Zach Smith each signing one-year deals.

‘There’s a Reason This Ain’t the Place for Them’
If a high school football player signs on to play at Ohio State, there are going to be demands and expectations placed on him that few places can match. It should be no surprise that the same can also be said of anybody choosing to work under Urban Meyer.
If you ever get the opportunity to watch a Buckeye practice, you won’t just see the players practicing “4-6, A-B.” You’ll see interns, assistants to the assistants, and operations people running all over the practice field. It looks like chaos, but everyone knows precisely where they’re going.
They are going all out to make sure that everyone else gets everything done that they need to get done. They make the coaching staff and the players more efficient and more productive.
From the head coach to the last intern, the demands are constant. It can be too much for most people, but it’s the only way that OSU defensive coordinator Greg Schiano has ever known.
“Well, it’s the only thing I’m used to,” Schiano said this spring. “That’s the way I grew up in this business, that’s the way I was as a head coach. I love being here, I love working for [Meyer] Fit’s very, very clear what our expectations are, and he equips us to accomplish those expectations.
“The thing where I’ve seen coaches fail is where you have these expectations, but you don’t equip them with either the support people or the video to be able to teach from. So it’s not fair to have this expectation and demand, but not be able to give them the tools to do it. You’ve got every tool you need here. So shame on you if you don’t get it done. And I think that is one of the things that makes this an elite place.”

P.J. FLECK: GREG SCHIANO IS “THE GREATEST INFLUENCE OF MY ENTIRE LIFE”
Before he became the head coach at Minnesota and before he established himself as a prominent coaching name at Western Michigan, P.J. Fleck was a Northern Illinois legend.
After serving one season at Ohio State in 2006 as a graduate assistant, Fleck returned to his alma mater in 2007 to coach wide receivers. He spent three seasons with the Huskies, a place where he was revered and "couldn't do much wrong," before getting an offer to coach wide receivers at Rutgers, where Greg Schiano had built a consistent program from the ground, up.
Speaking at Big Ten Media Days on Monday, Fleck said he was told by many when he took the job that he would have to work extremely hard for Schiano, but nothing could have prepared him for the expectations that Schiano would place upon him.
"Greg Schiano was not easy to work for, but that's what I needed in my life. I went out to Rutgers, and I remember asking people, 'Should I take this job?' And mentors of mine were like, 'Oh P.J., I don't know. I don't know if you are going to fit Greg.' So what did I do? I took it. Why? Because most of the things in my life I was told not to do, I did anyway because I wanted to do it the hard way," Fleck said. "I needed to be held accountable for everything. I needed to know how to discipline players. I needed to know how to discipline myself. Greg Schiano got me to do things I never even knew I could do in my entire life."
Fleck spent two years with Schiano at Rutgers before following him to Tampa Bay, where Schiano had accepted the head coaching job with the Buccaneers of the NFL. After one additional season coaching wide receivers with the Bucs, Fleck was offered the head coaching position at Western Michigan. From there, everyone who follows college football knows the rest.

So... why didn't Schiano get picked for this? He wants to be a HC again, no? The almost-Tenn thing proved that. Here's a gilded opportunity to show what he can do with a loaded team ?
What politics exist that he said no?
Or did he get skipped over entirely? That's got to be a tense situation for Day... ?
Similar questions about Wilson; more wrt getting skipped over. I think it wise to skip Wilson after the Indiana rumors but he surely must feel jilted ?

If you are aware of the Wilson rumors, are you not aware of the Schiano rumors?
Mike McQuerey claimed via 2nd hand information that Schiano was aware of Sandusky’s abuse. The person who allegedly told McQuerey that (Tom Bradley) strongly denies he ever said that.
Nonetheless, I don’t believe an interim head coach for tOSU should have any rumored history with any type of abuse. Ryan Day was the obvious choice and I don’t think Schiano or Wilson have any hard feelings. They get it.....

I think you are exactly right about Wilson, and Schiano had questions about him regarding his tenure at PSU when Sandusky was running amok. I think the University wanted to make sure whoever they put in place couldn't be questioned about any possible past issues.

I didn't go digging deep into the trial stuff after seeing how McQuery traded his silence for a permanent job... that sealed the issues for me wrt Paterno's role and upper ranks of Penn State knowing.
What does "claimed via 2nd hand information" mean exactly? I guess that McQuery heard from Tom Bradley that Schiano knew about it? And Bradley denies that? Isn't this basically the definition of hearsay? What is anyone supposed to take from that?
There were "rumors" about Johnson, too, when he was hired - no? There's rumors about anyone associated with PSU during that timeframe as far as I know ?
There's rumors about everyone at MSU since that shitbag got outed.
The allegations about Wilson are related to his own actions from several direct sources.
The rumor mill about Schiano and Johnson seems to amount to working at Penn State in the presence of Sandusky - his defensive staff moreover - and therefore must have known ? Or at least that's all I've taken from it. Correct me if I'm wrong so I can put it in the right context... but I'm taking it with a lot of salt for now.
I guess I put those 2 things (Wilson's allegations : Schiano's rumors) on different levels.
