Greg Schiano (HC Rutgers Scarlet Knights)

My biggest problem is that this wasn't a "holy shyte, what happened? we hadn't seen that coming" issue. Everything that killed us last night has been on display since the first game against the Beavers and... we haven't done dick about it. I put that on Schiano and Meyer. I haven't seen any meaningful changes in scheme or line-up. Every presser after every game has been the same thing, but nothing has changed and it bit us in the ass. If we don't sort it out now, we lose to SCum and SCum Lite. It may not be, although it's certainly in the running, the worst tOSU defense I can recall, it's definitely the worst with the most talent. That, ladies and gentlemen, is a coaching problem.

The talent of the players that we're bringing in on defense, scheme shouldn't matter. We're not running super difficult schemes, this isn't an NFL ultra disguise defense. We're playing with guys who were the best in America at their respective positions. The coaches are not putting them in positions to succeed, and they're paid VERY WELL to do so

The coaches want a defense that just plays the man across from you and relies only on personal player skill.

Problems are:
1. There are zero ways to cover up any deficiencies in this scheme
2. It is extremely easy to manipulate
3. It solely relies on player talent and skill
4. The players are either incapable of learning correct techniques or the coaches can't teach them

Complete clown show.

Not an elite coach. I’ve been saying that for this whole season.

I just don’t see it. What’s he done since he’s been here?

-Got hid in Fickell's scheme and got exposed when it was all on him.

-Also, to throw salt in the wound, Fickell has the #4 defense in the country. I would also look at Phil Parker, or throw a blank checkbook at Manny Diaz and go for broke

Yeah that’s gonna be a no from me dawg. If any DC at Ohio State gave up 50 points to a FCS school he’d be drawn and quartered on the spot.
You realize he's consistently a good to great defense while working with 3 star kids right?

He's Brent Venables working with half the talent. If we somehow got Bud Foster (which we wont) it'd be the best hire Urban has ever made.

By far.

There’s a VAST difference between a .500 Iowa squad or a Purdue team with a Top 20 offense versus a 2-6 FCS Old Dominion that got obliterated by fucking Marshall.

If you're going to dismiss the man based entirely on one game, a bad game i admit, then I can't see any coach that will satisfy your criteria.

Of course if one game is the sample size you require then can I not cite his defense coming to Columbus and knocking off a team that would be eventual national champions as a case for....?
