Well talk about immediately trying to address a need by Day. Looks like a good hire but with these assistant coaches, I've learned to be cautiously optimistic...particularly after Grinch and now Coombs (just off the top of my head, there's more). But for now I'll say welcome aboard and hope he's the home run hire that turns around our defense like Halfley did.

Looking at his 247 profile, it doesn’t seem like he’s the strongest recruiter. So I wonder if keeping a guy like Coombs is the strategy, and then convincing LJsr to stay on to handle the recruiting duties. While Knowles handles the schemes and development. But maybe he just hasn’t had the chance to recruit OSU level recruits while at fake OSU and Duke

DE's set the edge and the safeties play downhill, should be fine. Sitting back off the ball waiting to get steamrolled is not ideal

His defenses have been very good against the run. Allowed just 2.7 ypc this season.

I think Day needs to give Knowles the keys the the defense. Let him talk and plan with all of the coaches and see who he wants to keep.

That said when he got to Stillwater he didn’t change any of the defensive coaching staff.

Ya know, if the Cowboys QB and offense didnt suck so bad against Baylor, this hire likely doesn't happen as they go into the playoff ahead of Cincinnati, imo.

The adjustments part is what I want to see. He's aggressive and makes adjustments to the offense. Sign me up!

He was recruiting at Oklahoma fucking State. Give the guy a chance.
