Wow, cannot believe that I was watching a sophomore film. Lee is absolutely massive and I had assumed he likely will be a DE down the road with his size, but he plays exceptionally well in coverage and in space...might stay as an Mike if he doesn't get too much bigger. Like I said, Lee is remarkable in space and excellent in pass coverage, diagnoses plays quickly and shoots gaps, engages blockers when necessary and uses them to his advantage, and is a very sound tackler. Honestly, this kid might be the best LB in the country regardless of class (aside from maybe Gaotete). Really, really hope we get in the mix here, kid should be a star at the next level.

Same HS as former Ohio State commitment Terrell Hall (2016 recruiting class), who eventually decommitted and is on Alabama's roster. Having a relationship with their coaching staff already is a great start

One thing is for sure... St. John's S&C coach is REALLY good at what he does. Shane is just as jacked as Terrell was. Fantastic sophomore film

Shane Lee talks recent Ohio State trip
“They provide opportunities for internships and things like that, and they help you with things you’ll do in life. For instance, they’ll teach you how to cook, which seemed kind of weird at the time, but looking back on it, that kind of stuff is really important. It was cool to hear.”

As with most Maryland-area prospects recruited by the Buckeyes, Lee, from St. John’s College High School in Washington, D.C., will have his recruitment spearheaded by local legend Larry Johnson Sr. However, new linebackers coach Billy Davis will also be involved. The 6-foot, 210-pound sophomore spent time on campus getting to know those coaches and defensive coordinator Greg Schiano.

“Every conversation I had was a positive one,” he said. “They’re all filled with knowledge and experience, and it was cool to hear about them and what the Ohio State defense is about.”
“It’s going to come down to academics, life after football and, of course, football itself,” Lee said. “The things my family and I find important. I can’t predict what is going to happen in two years. I’m moving slow and exploring all of my options.”

Lee also visited Ohio State recently for a Buckeye spring practice session.

“It was high energy, fast-paced,” Lee said about the practice. “It seemed like everyone was having fun. It didn’t seem like a job to them.”

Lee is being recruited by Larry Johnson and Bill Davis.

“Usually I talk to coach Johnson,” Lee said. “And I’ve sat down and talked to coach Davis a couple times. I definitely want to get back to Ohio State.”

The 6-foot-0 and 240-pound Lee estimates he has 15 or 16 scholarship offers.

“The most recent are Clemson, Notre Dame and LSU,” Lee said. “Nobody stands out right now.”

Based on pictures and measurables (6' 240), I wonder if an already maxed out frame/potential is a concern.

It's why 5 stars get passed up by 3 stars, but not until after HS. The kid is clearly a beast right now.
I remember that being the case with a kid that eventually landed at UC(I believe his name was Jeff Luc). He looked like a grown man in HS and hit like a mack truck, but never grew anymore or got faster in college

That was also a concern on Raekwon McMillan at the same stage in his career...sometimes that concern turns out to be legitimate and sometimes it turns out they are physically college ready and can play. As for Lee, I still think that was one of the most impressive sophomore films I have watched and if he keeps that athleticism and stays in good shape, he should be a top priority for us.

"I was at Ohio State for Friday Night Lights," Lee said. "I did some drills there. I thought it was great. The energy was cool to see. I've never seen those coaches in action in the Shoe so that was pretty cool. I know about the players they have up there. I was with Keandre (Jones) when I was there. He and I are close. I guess it's cool that they have guys I know there but it doesn't influence my decision. Those coaches aren't trying to pressure me into making a decision any time soon, which is kind of a relief. Not that other coaches are trying to pressure me but hearing it was kind of a relief.

Really want this kid! An Absolute stud LB, who has great size but can keep up in space. I'm wondering if at the current pace he may get too big for LB at the next level, but I could see coach Mick keeping him lean and not losing any athleticism
