DE Jamal Marcus (Official Thread)

Marcus, Perkins and Williams. In the hunt with all three. The question is how many LB's do we take 1 or 2. After watching our LB play last year I say 2 speedy LB's on the outside. Not sure if we will have room though.

That highlight tape has got to be one of my all time favorites... holy cow.

He's in the backfield more than the other team's tailback. Jeeeez. Fast, hits the ball carrier with no good intentions, takes good angles to get back in plays, and looked almost impossible to block without holding. Do want.

This one is a little weird. I do not know much about NC, but let me break this down. Jamal is from NC. His home school would be UNC, or one of them. But Urban JUST hired the UNC coach as co-DC. Jamal can run but he cannot hide. To some extent, Meyer's success could depend on wither Jamal liked Withers? Or maybe he will like the new UNC coach better, just as Urban triggered a surge of feel good at Ohio State? Right now, I am cautiously optimistic, hoping for the best and hoping Meyer hired the right DC and am giving him the benefit of the doubt and assuming Urban laid the right cards and got Jamal in a finesse move. Jamal gets the best of UNC and the best of tOSU.

Question- We're really seeing some aggressive defensive front recruiting. If we lead with Marcus and Spence... wow.

Is the staff comfortable with the secondary number and LB numbers? It seems that we're bringing in more warriors on a pretty deep front four...

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I think they project Marcus as a OLB, a la Shazier. Spence projects as a LEO.
