DE/LB Thaddeus Gibson (official thread)

HabaneroBuck said:
I guess he was impressed with Lenix. Freddie ran a 10.7 in the 100M for the districts while Thaddeus ran an 11.7, per Bucknut11.

"4.3", as has been discussed before, is a logistical myth. However, granting the inflated times, an 11.7 100M does not even translate into "4.4" range. I'm sure Thad is gifted and quick, but I'm a little surprised at his track showing. Anyone know if he is injured presently?
i do believe that he is relatively new to the track scene, being that he was throwing shot earlier this track season before switching to running. track is just as much about form and technique as it is about just great speed.

As we move to No. 3 on our Ohio High Top 100 countdown, we come to the player Duane Long selected as the top defensive prospect in his spring top 100 -- Euclid linebacker Thaddeus Gibson. We had a chance to catch up with Thaddeus this past weekend at the Ohio High School Football Guide photo shoot and got a video interview for you to check out, which is also posted today with his profile. Click the link for more.

Gibson is considered the #3 prospect in Ohio for 2006. He is a big play linebacker, recording 17 sacks as a junior.

Sounds a lot like he's gonna be a buckeye... considering he knows nothing about michigan and is excited to one day play with some of the top Ohio players. Also, he was pretty excited when Tressel stopped by his school apparently, as was the entire school.

His coach wants him to decide before the season.

If I was picking a school, and I had the red carpet laid out for me, and also the chance to be a starter on one of the best teams in the county, and my family could see me play every week, and my girlfriend could...wait, (all those girls... nevermind that)...you get the idea. I think Gibson is a Buckeye. We just have to stay on him, play some ball, and emphasize the fact that we have like 4 senior linebackers on the best damn defense in college football. If that's not enough to seal the deal, then we will just have to make do with plan B. Here's hoping it's not even an issue. All aboard, Thad!! GO BUCKS

Thaddeus made Max Emfinger's Nifty 50 list of best players, as one of four weakside LBs, and overall one of 6 LBs.
Is there a list that you have to register to see that whole Nifty 50 list b/c at the top it says that you have to be a 6* to be on the Nifty 50 list.

He only has Thaddeus as a 5*.

Thaddeus Gibson 6-3, 205, 4.45, Euclid, OH (OHST, MICH, WVA, PUR, BC, IOWA)(Offers: All favorites)

I'm not doubting you, I would just like to know if there is another place to view the list, and if Max just didn't finish with giving out his 6* prospects yet.

Strange... I've made typos before but I definitely remember seeing this page late last night and he was in the top 4 six-star OLB's below Hebron... emfinger changes his stuff frequently. Oh well, he's still a stud :)

Couldn't have said it better. The kid is an absolute beast, and I want him in the S&G.

Thad discusses being interested in Miami(FL), Wisconsin, Ohio State, Michigan, Boston College, West Virginia, and Iowa. He claims he is wide open at this point. Thad does detail a phone call from the USC staff which told him of movie stars, weather, and location, but he says he would rather focus on academics. As of right now, there is no plan for a commitment anytime soon.
