RB DeaMonte “Chip” Trayanum (transfer to Kentucky)

No reason why this kid shouldn't be part of this class. OSU really needs 2 backs in this cycle so if he isn't willing to compete for it, and is being looked at as an RB2 in name only, then maybe OSU isn't the best fit for him. I don't know this for sure, but may be that OSU wants him at LB too, and may not even end up as a RB. All I know is, being RB2 at a school like OSU isn't such a bad gig if it's truly the school he's always wanted to attend.

Being a RB1 at a school like Arizona State ain’t bad either

If you are as good at RB as you think then come in and compete as RB 2. OSU has a clear track record of "best player plays". Recruiting rankings go out he window once you show up on campus.

BOL to the kid wherever but if OSU will take him as a RB, the presence of another tier 1 kind of guy shouldn't throw him off.

Additionally you have the demonstrated efficacy of keeping the hits moderated by having a couple of guys split carries.
Teague was similarly lower ranked behind Snead. He will likely be the bell cow as a junior. Even if Snead were still here I’d bet on Teague. Hard work and the right attitude can go far. Never know what could happen.
So I wouldn't count him out yet unless the staff said he may switch to LB and he doesn’t want that.

I guess he rather play early and be the big dog at a lesser known school. I can't fault him, and if he truly does sign with ASU, best of luck. I hope the staff fights for him until the end, because it's not set in stone that OSU will land Robinson or Melton. And Trayanum and a combo of any of the other RBs on the Buckeyes radar would be a great tandem.

It's a roll of the dice either way, but I'll never fault someone for gambling on themselves.
