Decanonized Mythologized Disgraced Ped State Monster Coach Joe Paterno (Zombie Icon)

My comment:

Some comments after yours......

Actually, the stadium should be named after him. He followed Pennsylvania and NCAA rules in his reporting what a coach reported of a former employee. It was the Second Mile charity that was insensitive and failed to do a proper investigation.

I disagree that Pedterno's name should be among the pantheon of great coaches.

I'd put him among the first to figure out how to reap rewards scheduling cupckaes tho
It's burried somewhere in the depths of these threads, but I've said before: Paterno invented the Boise State model of success.

It's humorous to think, but joining the Big Ten was probably amongst the worst decisions of his entire career. It would without a doubt be the worst decision of he didn't protect a child molester.

I like to think he was arrogant enough to truly believe he would walk into the Big Ten and dominate from day one.

I also like to think the reality of how truly mediocre he was (as revealed by his failure in the Big Ten) drove him insane.

Remember that he tried to get into the Big East, but all the former independents blackballed him. I'm sure that he would have liked to have dominated that conference.

I also think by the time he did join the Big Ten he was so arrogant and so wrapped up in the myth of Joesus that not only did he believe that he would dominate on the field but that he believed that the conference commissioner and all the schools would bow down to "success with honor" and that he'd call all the shots and still get all the calls. I really believe that he thought he'd come in and turn the Big Ten into what he pictured his defunct Eastern Conference to have been. Watching his growing fury and bitterness over that not coming true was every bit as enjoyable as watching his futility on the field.

I still want to see a movement of people who openly acknowledge he wasn't the coach for about the last 10 years of his "career".

Hm. Interesting. Do you really think that some of them would come out and say that the last 10 years' worth of wins shouldn't count? I think you'd be more likely to find a group who can admit that Joesus molested the kids, himself.

Oh god no...not from within the cult. I mean....yeah that'd be a sight to see, but I just mean non-penn state people who are considered knowledgeable.
