A few years back I picked up bow-hunting for deer. While I never seem to see many deer, except for driving to and from my locations, I really enjoy just sitting outside as quietly as possible for a day or so. In a few weeks I will be down in Amish country trying my luck again. I wish I had access to property closer to Akron, but no such luck. So, any other deer hunters on here?

Just sayin': If you to be sure to get some venison, go hunting at Arby's on 21 Oct 17......:slappy:

The sandwich features thick-cut venison steak that's topped with crispy onions and a juniper berry sauce. The meat is marinated in garlic, salt and pepper, and cooked for three hours.

Actually it looks pretty good.

Regardless of your luck now, it's a good skill to hone for when the zombies (or Chinese) come.

Seriously. No other deer hunters here on the forum? I am surprised.

What I really need is someone within about 45 minutes of Akron who has property where they would be kind enough to let me bowhunt for deer.

I grew up in Akron and we deer hunted in PA. Just weren't a lot of options in NEO. That being said--I haven't lived in OH in almost 40 years and I was curious. So...I googled it. Here you go:
https://www.ohio.com/akron/news/local/silver-lake-to-allow-bow-hunting-to-reduce-deer-population

Saw that. People in Silver Lake are crazy. The "hunting" there is behind their town hall and I have a feeling protesters will be out trying to save the deer. You know, so they can run over them later in their neighborhoods.
