Penna is not the only Dade athlete getting the royal treatment for the November signing day. Calusa Prep basketball star Denis Clemente is just as popular with college recruiters with offers from Arkansas, Ohio State, Miami, Florida and South Florida.

Clemente, who led the state in scoring last season with 33.5 points, averaged a tournament high 25.8 points over four games at the Nike Peach Jam Classic in Atlanta.

'There wasn't a college coach in the country who wasn't impressed by Denis' speed and scoring ability over the summer,'' Calusa Prep coach Tim Fowler said of his 6-0 point guard. ``I had the Ohio State coach call me four times on one day to talk about Denis. He and the guy from Arkansas told me Denis is their No. 1 target this year.''

New OSU men's basketball coach Thad Matta has already made a very good impression on several recruits across the country. One of them is Miami Calusa Prep point guard Denis Clemente, who is rated as one of the nation's top players at his position. Remember the name because the Buckeyes have a very good chance with him, as Kyle Lamb reports.

The article goes on to say that we have a VERY good chance of landing Clemente. Both Denis and hsi coach think extremely highly of Matta. Apparently Matta thinks he can contribute as a true freshman if not start. Clemente can dribble the ball end-line to end-line in 3.2 seconds. Can you say "fun and gun"?

A regulation basketball court is 94 feet long (i.e. 31.333 yds).

If he can do that in 3.2 seconds, then that's on pace to dribble a 40-yd dash in about 4.1 (assuming a constant pace).

Something tells me he might not be quite that fast.
