Derek Kief (GA Maryland Terrapins)

We can sure use a kid with some size on the outside for us like derek. I don't believe we have a wr over 6'1". We could use a big endzone wr as well as a guy that can move the chains. Hoping for a commit from mr. Kief

UK Football: Ohio receiver Derek Kief has Kentucky high on his list of schools
By LARRY VAUGHT [email protected]
April 18, 2013

Since Ohio receiver Derek Kief is considered one of the nation?s best high school receivers, it?s no surprise that he has Ohio State and Alabama ? in no certain order ? as his top two schools. However, he has a surprise at No. 3 ? Kentucky.

?I would say Kentucky is No. 3, but he had definite interest in Kentucky,? said Cincinnati Lasalle High School coach Tom Grippa. ?He is 6-5 and runs a 4.5 (second) 40 (yard dash). He is a great receiver and special kid. He is a legit 6-5, is long and can jump and run with great body control.?

Ohio wide receiver prospect Derek Kief names his top 5 with elaborate acronym graphic

Posted: Thursday, May 23, 2013

Consensus four-star prospect Derek Kief, a wide receiver out of Cincinnati, holds over 20 FBS-level scholarship offers, from some of the nation's top programs. He was a special guest of Urban Meyer at Ohio State's spring game. The local Cincinnati Bearcats and not-so-local Illinois Fighting Illini sent their scholarship offers before he had finished his sophomore year of high school. He is a hot commodity this summer.

When it came time for Kief to narrow his possible selections down to a Top 5, he took to his own website and let his inner graphic designer get to work:

With access to social media sites like Twitter and Instagram, recruits have more opportunities than ever to share their own recruiting news in new and interesting ways. Cincinnati wide receiver prospect Derek Kief took that idea one step further over the weekend when he posted a photo gallery of his unofficial visit to Alabama to his personal website.

Kief, a 6-foot-5, 197-pound prospect from Cincinnati's La Salle High School, is among the Crimson Tide's top receiver targets for the class of 2014 and Alabama is currently believed to be among the four-star prospect's favorites along with Ohio State.

In the photo gallery, Kief is shown posing with head coach Nick Saban, current Alabama players Kevin Norwood, Ryan Kelly and Reuben Foster among others as well as recently drafted Crimson Tide graduates Robert Lester and Nico Johnson.
