Detroit Red Wings (Official Thread)

Going for 22 Friday night against Nashville. Won't be easy considering how well the Predators have been playing. Who would've thought the Central division would turn out to be the best division in hockey minus Columbus (sorry Blue Jackets fans) ? St Louis under Ken Hitchcock has been nothing short of incredible and Nashville has been playing great as of late behind Pekka Rinne, who's been awesome.

On the opposite end of all of this is Chicago. I have no words to describe what has happened to them and I think they are running out of words too. 1-8-1 in there last 10 and have given up at least three goals in every one of those games. Tonight just added insult to injury as a deflected Ryan Ellis shot late in the third sealed there fate.

Ryan Suter's jock is still lying on the ice after what Datsyuk did to him. Unreal, simply unreal how good Datter is

#13 out 2-3 weeks with knee surgery

Jimmy back in net tonight. Not sure what happened to this team, but they looked like shit. Howard kept them in the game for a LONG time. faced 3-4 break-a-aways and blocked them all. Chi town fought and are on a roll. The Joe is still a place were its going to be very hard for a team to win at.

Wings' injuries mount, but Jimmy Howard says his is 'nothing serious' - The Detroit News

Doug Janik (D), Chris Conner (F) & Jordan Pearce called up from Grand Rapids for tomorrow's game against Philadelphia. Kindl, Bertuzzi and Howard all picked up knocks last weekend.

Wings are still only one point behind Vancouver for the #1 seed in the West, but St. Louis playing as good as anyone in the league right now is going to make the Central Division race come down to the wire.

Wings now sit in 4th place, eight points behind St. Louis in the Central division with 10 games left to play. They're only 3-6-1 in there last 10, but have got a flurry of injured players back this weekend including Datsyuk, who had been out for three weeks.

They're only two points ahead of 5th place Nashville and six points ahead of 6th place Chicago who both have been playing quite well as of late. Should come down to the wire for these three playoff spots (4th-6th place)

Big game tomorrow afternoon against Chicago. Have to get at least one point or they will end up dropping to sixth to play either Phoenix, San Jose or Los Angeles in the first round. Can't believe they dropped a big ol' turd last night against New Jersey to drop out of fourth place.

Easily the best Defenseman of our generation is retiring tomorrow and there is absolutely nothing in the system to replace him or even scratch the surface. The Wings better hope they are getting Suter or it's going to be a long ass season next year. The best returning d-pair is going to be Kronwall and (gulp) Ericcson....
