Difference in Coaching. . .

After watching N.C. State just about kill themselves again this week again VaTech I would have to say that coaching has a much bigger affect on games than I originally thought. I thought Beamer did a poor job of getting his team in situations to take advantage of the NC State miscues. I once again take my hat off to the coaching staff for understanding what they were going up against in the game last week.

Also, I am starting to think maybe our offense wasw not as pathetic as we and the media seem to think it is. N.C. State just has a nasty and play-making defense. I think Tressel saw that and bottled the offense to prevent what we saw happen to VaTech. 10 sacks, unbeleavable pressure, and the way that team runs off of emotion, that defense just feeds the entire team.

I hope someone takes a step back and says that maybe tOSU did not do such a bad thing against a very tough N.C. State D. (Only time will tell I guess)

NCSU has a very good and talented, aggressive defense. That win was no fluke for NCSU this week IMO. OSU has a very young inexperienced QB and offense at some postions. but we have one of the Greatest coaches in College. I agree that Tressel went very conservative as not to make any mistakes and too give this QB some time to learn, but more so he didn't make too many mistakes that could lose that game.
p.s. Watch out when Justin Zwick starts picking up defensive coverages and the game slows down for him. I am still convinced we have a great one on our hand.

ScarletnGry,

No step back needs to be taken for me. I was content with the play calling during and after the game last week. A lot of flack came from people who looked at the stat sheet after the game. "Only 137 yards, blah, blah."

We did the smart things in order to win on the road against a talented team. After watching NC St get 10 sacks in Blacksburg yesterday, I was hoping that Tressel's wise play selection while leading would be better appreciated.
