Disrespect in the polls?

Yertle

Pounding out aggression, turns into obsession
Not that the polls make any difference, but are the Bucks getting the shaft in the polls, or is it typical for a 19-11 team to have 1 lousy vote? 1 vote?!?! That means 1 person thought they were worth a 25th ranking.

Is this all because of the sanction, or is this fairly accurate?

The fact that they had to upset the #1, only-remaining-undefeated, team in the country just to finish at .500 in their conference may have something to do with it.

Remember, they entered the game with a losing streak and lost about every game to top 25 teams in the power ratings. Win three more and I think they might just get in there.

We'll all be a lot happier next year with our rating but these guys have shown guts and respect for themselves that is truly something to be proud of. If we don't get a top 25, we're still top 25 in my book!

Under the circumstances of adversity this BB team faced, they should be given some kind of award for the regular season they had. They could have given up and instead they gave it their all. I'm sure they pleasantly surprised alot of people. :oh: :io:

I hope the NCAA thinks this team has suffered enough and the self-imposed suspension and O'Brien's firing is enough.

Due to the Guardians classic, we have played a few more games than many teams, which has padded our win total somewhat. If you look at the other teams receiving votes, our 11 losses is easily the highest total. Many of those teams have only played 27 to 28 games and have six to nine losses. Also the preception of the Big10 being weak and the post season ban definitely factor in there.

No doubt about it.

Our boys won't be ranked this year, even if we win the BT tourney.

Even if they beat Illinois at home and in Chicago? I think that gets them in but I also don't think that's gonna happen. This team has fed off the home crowd. But who knows? If they get that far and pull that off, I think they will be ranked.

They didn't really beat anybody until Illinois, so it's not a real surprise. We played an awful lot of hyphen teams early in the year. If they win the Big Ten tourney, then yes, I think the probation might impact whether we get ranked or not, but considering we won't be going to the tournament, we won't be in the final poll no matter what, which is the only one that counts.

Not entirely true. When we beat Iowa early they were a top 25 team. When we beat Texas Tech they were really hot, not sure about their rank though. Granted those two games pale in comparison to the Illinois win.

Yes, but the undisputed fact is that poll voters aren't (and probably shouldn't) going to look at wins over Iowa and Texas Tech as poll-worthy, in and of themself.
